Has anyone heard if the software update is out for the RER? Milious mentioned in the Troubleshooting section that the update will be out in January 2011 and mentioned it would fix compatibility issues with the Iphone 4.

If anyone knows if its out, I would appreciate any info where to get it and how to get it into my system.

Thanks everyone,
Chris

All you need to know is here: http://www.mofv.com/mygig/
The instructions are in the left hand column, the link to the software is in their forum section under a thread referring to software updates. Basically download the zip file, unzip and burn the 2 files and one folder to CD. Then just put in car and follow prompts. Just did my upgrade yesterday. Was easy.

Read what they say carefully though. it does not completely fix the iPhone4 compatibility issues. Most people (myself included) have said that they can make and receive calls but caller ID on incoming calls still does not work.

Also, make sure you have the car turned on and the radio turned on before you insert the disc. It takes about 10 minutes. I did mine yesterday and have not noticed any changes between 2.201 and 2.4.

I'm not sure Navy1's original question got answered... He's specifically asking about the firmware update that was due out (supposedly) this month. It was mentioned that it will address the iphone 4 issues specifically.

Read it somewhere.. will try to find link... but no, its not out yet to answer the question.

-- correction -- It is out as others have posted but I dont think it addresses the iphone issue. Havent tried it myself.

The January update to 2.4 is out, I applied it two nights ago, but unfortunately I don't think it addresses the Iphone 4 issue.

I'm hoping it does address the updating channels thing, but I havent been in my Jeep at all since I updated it, so I really don't know.

It's out. See the above site (the mygig site does not have it for download).

It does seem to help with the "updating channels" issue (haven't had it hit since I applied the update, but then, the issue was pretty sporadic anyway). It does NOT provide a fix for the iPhone 4 issue.

FYI Guys - I just noticed this TSB for the software update:

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0800111.pdf

Might want to ask them not to do this if you take it in, if you've already done the update like me.

I guess maybe it wouldn't hurt it to reflash it, but 1) it would be a waste of time if you've done it and 2) the least I can get away with the dealer touching on my Jeep, the better IMO.

They would notice that it already has 2.401 even if they went to install it. Remember, right before it begins the reflash it asks "You you want to replace version X with version Y," where X= the version on the unit and Y= the version that's on the disc. They'd notice that the two versions were the same.

I got a weired answer after contacting MyGig support regarding my 430 RBZ (non navigation).

My question was if there is a software update in the pipeline for this model. The answer: "not my radio. Please contact Mitsubishi Electronics with an office in Northville, Michigan"

Does anybody know what that means? Thought MyGig produces the software for all WK2 media centers.

MYgig RER update question

I installed a version 2.4x

I believe I had 9.5x or something in the 9.xx range.

I read now that I was supposed to install updates sequentially and not skip to latest.

Seems to have gone through the install fine.
Booted back up fine.
HDD files still there
Radio works FM and AM. They were not working prior to this update.
This is what spurred me to update the unit.
Nav seems to be working fine.

However SIRIUS Sat comes up with "no module" message.
I have an active subscription and it was working fine.
Not sure if I need to get them to resend an activate signal or not.
But I have never seen this "no module" message before.

So, if I screwed up the sequence is there any recourse I have to get this correct?

Thanks

2008 Overland 5.7 hemi
