Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

Hello everyone, I am new to this form but not new to updating the maps on the 430n, unfortunately only able to update to 2014.10. My gps firmware needs an upgrade(currently at 2.5) and I have been hunting everywhere on the internet for the 33.02.01 update with no luck and happened to register on this site saw your link but its not working anymore. Do you have another location where i might be able to find the firmware online? Thanks again! These forums have been a life saver in the past.

PM me an email address and I can grant you temporary access to the ISO image on my Google Drive. Gmail addresses usually work the best, but any email address should work.

Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

Great info here. I got my 2012 430n maps finally updated, 2015.10 now works!

I also have 2016.10 and now 2017.10 gmapsupp.img files to update maps further, but haven't had as much luck finding the corresponding .JCV files.

Should I bother updating to 2016.10 or 2017.10 w/o updating the JCV files as well?

For the 2017.10 maps you are looking for:
JCV_LaneAssistFull length 866660352, name D3060200A.jcv
Should be an 826MB file.

Any idea what the difference between lane assist and just full (D3153200A.jcv) I have always used the "Full" JCV

Naming convention change.

I used to use the 'full' JCV also, but when I downloaded it I was left with a 27MB file and I know that isn't the right size.

The old 'full' JCV was always around 800MB, so the 'lane assist' version is now the right version.

At least I hope I'm right...
I am in the middle of two projects (and still have to get my boat ready for the water) and have not had time to try the 2017.10 update yet.

Check Junctions file:
Set a destination where you would expect to see a junction (such as a highway off ramp). Once calculated, press the top of the screen and it will show you each step of the directions. Select the first one and scroll through until you see the "junction button" light up. BAM there is your junction and you have confirmed it's been installed incorrectly.

Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

Hey everyone. Just picked up a 2013 Durango cheap with only 34k miles. I have the 430n RHB. I have tried to update and am having issues. I dowmgrades to 33.01.23. Burned a disk with 50.01.01 and the 2017 garmin iOS with the name changed. And I keep getting nav update error.

Personally, I've never done the map update with the v50 radio update.

1) Downgrade to v33.02.01 via CD.
2) Perform the map update via USB.
3) Upgrade to v50 via CD.

I tried the map update with the v50 update once and it failed. Tossed the DVD in the trash and went back to the old/tried-n-true method.
