ENJOY!

PS: For those not able to run the firmware upgrade from USB:
Are you starting it correctly?
You should:
1) Put car into "Start" with radio OFF
2) Insert USB into Radio
3) Turn radio ON
4) Should start firmware process from USB within a few seconds!
I would highly recommend performing the radio firmware updates via a burned CDROM (burn at the slowest setting you can).

I've read many forums over the last few years and updating the firmware via a USB drive can lead to 'bricking' your radio.

Map updates via USB.... definitely. That's the only method I've ever used.

Oh, and when putting your vehicle into the "on/run" position (without the engine running) set a timer for 30 minutes as the vehicle will shut off after 30 minutes and you need to be there to reset the 30 minute cycle. Not needed for firmware updates (they usually take less than 10 minutes), but you will need to do it for map updates as they generally take 60-80 minutes.

Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

I know it's an old thread but anyone wants to share RHB-RBZ.33.02.01 firmware with me? The file share posted by iheff (#4 post) is not working anymore.
I have spent many many hours trying to update my 430n RHB Media Nav Unit to new map. I have tried City Navigator North America NT 2017.10, 2016.10, 2017.20, 2017.30 by following the instruction

But all have failed with error " not correct version, please contact your dealer bla bla bla"

I checked my GPS software version which is 2.90 and I have firmware
RHB-RBZ.33.01.23

As I was trying to update to exactly the same version of map which was installed successfully by others, I figured I need to upgrade my NAV software version to 3.0 first before it allowed me to update the Map?

I then spent a lot of time searching around on internet to download 33.02.01 firmware but couldn't find any. Can anyone tell me if I upgrade to 33.02.01 firmware, will it bring my NAV software to 3.0? If yes, can you possibly share this version of firmware with me?

Many thanks!

Sox still has it on his site:

MyGigSoftware... >> MyGig2008... >> MyGig430N >> ISO images in here

Download the ISO and then use a CD/DVD burning software such as InfraRecorder to burn a CD at the slowest setting possible.

Grab the v50 update ISO also and once you have the maps updated, update the radio firmware to v50.
The black theme is much nicer than the blue theme.

Thanks, I've got it, but still doesn't work.

So far, I have tried v33.01.23, v33.02.01, v50.01.01, v50.00.07. But the problem is that none of them will update my GPS software. The problem is similar to what happned to JoeSchmoe007 (#26)

"No matter what firmware version I use, I always get "PND didn't update" and I am never prompted to update GPS software to 3.0. The rest of the software updates fine.

After the baseline update, it shows "Updating Nav" in the upper right corner, "Reading files" in the center of the screen and then "PND did not update". First time, second time and all the time. Never actually prompts me "Do you want to update Nav" or anything like that."

Any idea? This thing really drives me crazy. I am still using the original 2013 map and I have had problem finding the right way when going to bigger cities.

My unit doesn't have a SD slot so I am not sure how to install supplemental maps.

Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

Tons of great info here.... But I'm new to this and trying to figure it out.

I have downgraded my firmware and am now trying to figure out what exactly goes on the USB. I have downloaded the latest jcv file and put it on USB, but thats as far as I have got. Inserting this alone does nothing. I'm sure I have missed a very simple step.
I have RHB13 software version 2.22 and GPS says 4.14.07
App ver 33.02.01
I have downloaded D3060220A.jcv with gmapprom.img
Once downloaded I put them on USB and insert into radio and fails.
While on PC if i double click in img file it says corrupt. I have downloaded 3 times

Ricky,
Your profile doesn't list the model year of your Jeep.
The v33.02.01 update only updates the Garmin software for the 2011 through mid-year 2013 radios.

Most of the 2013 radios require a different Garmin update.

The 'PND did not update' message is normal. It is referring to map updates which are not included on the CDROM.

You need to check your Garmin software version. I don't recall what to look for, but it's mentioned somewhere in this thread.

Map updates must be done separately from the radio updates. A few people have managed to create a DVD that does the radio and map updates together, but it didn't work for me and I didn't feel like wasting DVDs trying to get it to work.

---Create a Garmin (folder) in that folder the gmapprom.img file and a JVC (folder) containing the JCV file.
---Double check that no other files are on the USB drive.
Garmin\gmapprom.img
Garmin\JCV\D3060xxxA.JVC
Make sure the USB is formatted in FAT32.

You probably do not have any software installed on your PC (Windows?) that would be able to properly 'interpret' the Garmin IMG file, don't bother.

Re: RHB 430N Update to City Navigator NT 2016.10

I just bought a 2011 Laredo Saturday. it has the oldest version for the radio 08.03.02 or whatever. I know it only goes up to 10.00.11. Does anyone have a link that I can download that update to a jump drive and install it. I found one link for sox or whatever but it think that is for a CD only. I know this is off topic but I am trying to figure this out.

It is an ISO file, will it work on a jump drive?

Please help

mygig-disk.com/download-rhb.php go there and follow the steps. Also, check in the forum for SW update in order to update the BT. PS. You should read all the posts from the beginning. Good luck.
