I got the S5 last week, paired it to my 14' JGC with no problems. It worked for 3-4 days, then randomly stopped the next time I got in the car. I deleted my phone from the UConnect and tried to re-pair the bluetooth. It says the UConnect is not responding on my S5 when pairing. Any tips or ideas? Thanks.

try to delete the pairing reboot your phone and then try pairing again. phones can get wacked out just like computers and power cycle helps sometimes.

I'll just leave this here : MOTO X

1 month with Jeep and it pairs and works every time.

I stream music from Moto X via BT all the time both local(5gb of music on moto x) and Pandora.
Controls work perfectly and all tags are displayed correctly (even for my russian music)

+ SMS details:

My 8.4AN/RA4 is running 14.05.3
My Moto X is running 4.4.2 on Verizon.
Hangouts is main SMS app with stock messaging app disabled.

I can confirm that messaging works. Uconnect reads my incoming SMS just fine and announces who it came from. I can also reply via voice or pre-populated quick replies.

Now few odd things:
1. When replying to SMS for contacts that have multiple phone numbers stored Uconnect replies to wrong number. ex: SMS came from my wife's iphone, Uconnect replied to her work BB or even to her work land line. Resolved it by splitting contacts, or by manually sending new SMS to correct number.

2. Whenever I use Uconnect to send SMS, on my Moto X in hangouts, SMS shows as sent twice. Interestingly only 1 sms is received on the other end. No big deal I guess.

Tried connecting yesterday with an Iphone, I recieved the same message "Unable to communicate with Uconnect". Sounds like it might be my Uconnect system, I'll be calling the dealer today. It was working perfectly the first couple of days, including messaging. We will see.

I have a S5 I'm using with a 2014 grand cherokee. Try deleting the s5 from your settings on uconnect. Then delete the uconnect from the s5. You should be able to reinstall the s5 to uconnect. My s5 doesn't always connect . A easy fix...... Tap the phone icon, tap s5, tap connect - sprout icon. This should fix the problem. My s3 did the same thing. No need to remove the s5 after getting it to reinstall, just reconnect.

Ok. So finally today after taking it for its 3,000klm check up at the dealer I got it to work.
I had been trying to pair it all over again after clearing the jeep and also the phonea bluetooth. I jist cleared the phone from the jeep and then reconnected the phone and it worked.

I just got a Galaxy S5 and S5 Sport (both Sprint) and neither of them work with my 430N in my 2013 grand cherokee. I had an s2 and it worked flawlessly. The S5s paired with out any issue but the operation is a different story. The issues are...

When a call is initiated via voice command, the calls drop after 1 and a half rings.

When the call drops or is canceled, the S5 shows the calls as still active even though there is no activity with the call and no sound when listening to the phone. And must end the call on the hand set or it will continue to think the call is active.

When a call is initiated via the S5, the call is not picked up by the bluetooth and does not automatically switch over as my S2 did.

I did the cache clearing and the delete and re-pairing of the device several time but the problem still exists.

Any ideas????

I have a 2015 GC Summit on the way and am thinking of upgrading my phone from a Samsung S3 (Sprint) to an S5 (AT&T).

The uconnect website indicates bluetooth audio streaming on an 8.4AN is not supported with an S5 but it is with an S3 or S4....WTF?

Is this saying that I will not be able to play Pandora/Spotify over bluetooth to my car speakers?

S5 is working fine with my 2014.

It has occasional glitches (probably unrelated to S5 specifically), but overall everything works.

I called Uconnect cust support and they told me that the S5 and many other model phones are using a new Bluetooth software version and it is not compatible with the older version. They also informed me that they are working on a fix for this issue in their latest software upgrade. Unfortunately, they don't have a release date as of this time. If you go to the UConnect website, you can check for updates based on the last 8 digits of your VIN. Basically she said to keep checking and when it is available, you just download it to a usb drive and then install it.

This is absolutely crazy. I really don't put blame on UConnect or any other bluetooth device supplier that has put out a product in the past...the blame should solely be put on the bluetooth standards and manufactures who do not put in backward compatibility for older software levels...just unimaginable!!!
