Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

S5 and 2014 GC limited and it usually works perfectly. On occasion it does not connect. When that happens it might connect after a while or if I need to use the phone I hit the button to use the speaker on the phone and then click on the Bluetooth button and it reconnects. There might be a small pause but as best I recall I never had to repeat those steps.

Once I paired the phone I never had an issue if I used the Bluetooth options in the settings or toolbar. Never asked for a number to pair it, and it would just reconnect.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

I have been having the same problem with my Samsung S5. It worked for the first month (approx) that I had the phone. Went on vacation and when I came back it no longer works. It connects sporadically when I make a call and will pickup on incoming calls. Very frustrating. I am going to try each of the suggestions listed here. I have a 2012 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

So for those that keep posting about it working fine on 2014s and newer... We know. This post is about new phones not working with older Jeeps. My Droid Maxx worked fine with my 2012, but the new phone (S5) will not. This is a Uconnect issue and nothing else. They are not making updates to the older systems for newer Bluetooth technology. Plain and simple.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

Not sure if this will help with the S5, but may with others.

Go into your applications and make sure all of the "ANT" and "ANT+" items are enabled.

Some 'battery optimization' apps or advice sites may disable these and that will cause problems.

These are related to Bluetooth connectivity.
I was having other issues with my Samsung GS4 and performed a factory reset and was about to disable them, but looked up what they were and realized they need to be active (I disable all the crap that Sprint pushed down).

After the factory reset (and all the ANT apps running) I can once again initiate phone calls via voice prompt.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

I have had the S5 since I purchased the WK2 in December 14. Works perfectly every time, although I did have a slight hiccup when my S5 had to be replaced. It wouldn't pair properly because the phone name stored in my uconnect was the same as my phone.
Changed the name of my phone (on the phone itself) and it connected straight away. Has been faultless since.

Cheers, Craig

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

Any update on connection issues:

I have a 2012 Overland with the 730N. I recently purchased a Galaxy S5. Sometimes the system works and sometimes it doesn't. I have followed all the steps outlined in this thread.

I have unpaired and paired again. I have factory reset the device.

When the system doesn't work you hear the music over the speakers for 2 seconds. Then there is no more sound. Sometimes, it will display "Failure to connect"

I would prefer to use the bluetooth over purchasing an aux plug.

Everything worked perfect with my S3, but that phone did not survive a drop.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

Boxheadmr - You are correct and I apologize.

Following the latest Android update to Lollipop (5.0) I have not had any issues with making calls. My battery now sucks, but for now my Bluetooth calling works.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Connection Problem

My S5 was working fine with my GC until I did the Lollipop update. Now when I try to make a call through the UConnect, it starts and then stops. I cleared everything from the phone and radio with no luck.
