Satellite Radio - Updating Channels

I know I'm going to take some heat for this question...

But I did try the search feature for a couple of seconds...

I have a 2007 JGC and have the "Updating Channels" always going on. I thought I read somewhere here that there is a software update that can be done. Can someone walk me through this??

If the recent update does not help
try this recommendation from Technosavant
I did this update same day sirius xm update came out.
Have not had the on going problem with channel updating since.

Download page with software update for the RER (note: NOT RHR):

http://mofv.com/mygig/

The 2.402 is the most current software revision and should not only fix the "updating channels" issue (fixed in 2.401) but also improve iPhone 4 compatibility. Download the file, burn it to disc (piece of cake in Win Vista and Win 7), then stick it into the disc slot on your head unit. It will load the disc and begin the update automatically. I'd recommend you do this with the engine running (should only take 5-10 minutes or so). There are a couple prompts you will need to OK as things progress, but it generally does everything itself. You may need to re-pair your phone to the unit when finished.

Re: Satellite Radio - Updating Channels

Huston we have a problem.

A couple problems... Last night it was dark and I didn't have my glasses. The unit I have is a "REC" and therefore the radio spit out the cd I made saying no audio files.

Is there any fix's for my radio??

Re: Satellite Radio - Updating Channels

It spit out the CD because it didn't like your music selection. Just try a better CD. Hope that helps.

Re: Satellite Radio - Updating Channels

The REC can't use the same software as the RER. I'm not sure what you'll need to do... it may be something you need to discuss with your dealer, but I'd be pessimistic about the possibility of any recent software updates for the unit (if it is something recent that caused it to throw a fit, it is likely old enough that even Chrysler doesn't really care anymore).
