Even that, I must admit, wasn't 100% with the uConnect but it was nice when it worked. The biggest decision for the aftermarket unit for me was speed. I can put my entire CD collection in .flac format on a small drive and flip through it effortlessly. With the uConnect, the speed was very slow for me.

I did retain all the original parts so it can go back to stock when it comes time to replace the vehicle. The side sub enclosure is a stealthbox with a 1" spacer ring so the w6 fits. We just ripped the carpet off and vinyl wrapped it. Had to body work the spacer in place a little so the transition was nice and smooth under the vinyl.
Greetings,

Just to be sure, you had the 8.4 Uconnect with the integrated HVAC fuctions?

Best for now.

What about your heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel controls?

Yes, I had the 8.4AN top dog factory head unit in 2015 with integrated HVAC. The Maestro RR allows control of climate controls, heated steering wheel, heated and A/C seats, parking sensors still work, curving lines on the factory reverse camera still work. ALMOST everything works, I posted above about the rear collision detection or whatever it's called.
Unfortunately, the 6.95" Kenwood or Pioneer radios are a step down in size compared to stock. The width is the same but the aspect ratio changes from 4:3 to 16:9...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I also have a Microsoft miracast HDMI wireless adapter. I can stream my Android's screen wirelessly with an Ad Hoc network, works pretty slick. I do miss the look of the factory 8.4, but the features of aftermarket make up for it and win me over, personally.

Greetings,

I am glad everything is working out for you. I have not looked into Maestro if it was updated in sometime. Usually, somebody from ADS (12Vguy) posts an update. This is major development for those who are sick of their super dog 8.4 and get into a real headunit.

Please keep us updated.

Best for now.

Scrapped factory system

And what do you do about warranty claims for the jeep? As soon as a dealer sees that you pulled the screen out and added all that gear, you'll be done.

I got my balls busted over HID's (in my 2014 ) to the point where they started blaming them for my transmission shifting erratically and gauge cluster lighting up like the 4th of July... almost voiding my warranty claim for the repairs and handing me a bill.

I can't even imagine what they would have said if I pulled up in your jeep.... good luck brotha!

A lot depends on the dealer, the claim, and your relationship with the dealer.

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

I was really talking about anything electrical or canbus related. In my situation the problem ultimately turned out to be related to the gauge cluster itself and a faulty KIN/WIN module that lives on the vehicle canbus, just like every other thing in these Jeeps. Lucky for me I was already driving my replacement 2015 long after they "fixed" my problem.

NIce system. How long have you had the DM-810 I have been waiting for it or the DM-608 to use with my 8.4 with alpine system. Are they out, no where shows them available yet. How is the computer interface?

Re: Scrapped factory system

I've only had the vehicle back for a week or 2. They aren't for sale yet. I have a pre-production DM810. I think i was sort of a test subject for Audiocontrol. Software is pretty straight forward. Had to get it emailed from Audiocontrol though. Actually, had to install several different versions of software to communicate through a couple firmware flashes of the 810 but it's all good now. The time alignment is very nice. I wouldn't say I have a SQ system by any means, but as this is the first time I've had TA applied, the results are great. That, and I really like the acr3 remote that I linked up to control all 3 sub amps.

Greetings,

If one has that fire power as you do, plus nicely configured vocal speakers, then you might have an SQ system. Do not kid your self. Once those speakers really breaking in. Start to play with different crossover settings and types. The power of the DSP.

Again, great job.

Best for now.

Re: Scrapped factory system

Yep that's a very nice upgrade. Respect for going in at ground level.

Surely once this modification penetrates the market a replacement bezel will be developed with the standard aftermarket aspect ratio. Then that minor detail will be settled. Anyway, I find offence to the ears equal to the eyes, so suspect I'd be well able to tolerate the current installation given the audio improvement!

Anyone who gives half a rat's arse about sound now wishes they were driving your car. Happy listening.

Cheers,
Steve
