Re: SD Card Problems

After reformatting and loading the SD card again I had my first trial run. Music loaded, slow and kept changing numbers until it finally stabilized at approx. 2100 songs.

I had never noticed the duplicate song issue before, but since I wanted to check the sound quality on one particular song I seached by song title for the first time. Duplicates a plenty!!

I was hopeful that the reformating would also address the sound quality. Does anyone have the following issue...

On some songs the level of bass makes it unbearable to listen to the song. This is not the way the song was produced. I'm playing the song now on the PC and it sounds great. A CD I burned for the home stereo (laugh now that I still have a CD player) sounds great. I don't know what I may have done in ripping the CD to the PC to cause this.

Also, I noticed that even though I copied the entire CD as a folder to the SD card, this particular song is not listed in that folder. That's why I had to search by song title. I do know that the "artist" is listed second on this song becasue she has a guest performer getting top billing.

Is anybody having the sound mix issue? Know of a better way to transfer songs?

Thanks.

Re: SD Card Problems

Well, after several drives the reformated disk is holding steady. I have been using the "stop" soft key before turning off the car or going to radio. It's a pain in the a**, but better than the frustration of locking up the SD card!

I'm still having the issue of over done base on some songs. Today I am going to erase that song from my PC and start the process from the original CD being ripped to the PC and transfering to the SD card.

I hope that unlocking/locking the SD card that the card stays stable.

Let me know if you're have the sound issues.
Thanks for reading...

Re: SD Card Problems

I too have experience most of what you are seeing such as:
1. Missing songs
2. duplication of playlists (even when the card is locked)
3. way too much bass on certain tracks

According to Uconnect, who have spoke to multiple time, I am using a fully supported 32gb SANDisk card.

Interestingly, when I started to get duplicate playlists, they were not present on the card itself (viewed by PC). It would appear that the uconnect system builds it own cache after scanning the card.

I spoke to uconnect today about this and other issues and they were pretty much completely useless. Aside from telling me that my Radio 8.4RAN is NOT going to be compatible with Pandora once the app is made available in september. WTF is that all about?
