Seemed like a simple thing

I've been trying to determine if the radio (730N RER on 2011 Overland) has to be turned on in order for the Navigation System to work. What do I do if I just want navigation, but don't want to listen to the radio?

Been checking the various posts, read the OM, but can't find answer.

thanx in advance

Select aux input, and don't connect any devices. Will stay sillent. I also think the radio volume and Nave volumes are independent, so you may be able to turn the radio volume to minimum.

That is correct. I just use the volume buttons on the wheel for convenience. I do wish there was a mute button though.

Well, if you turn the radio knob toward zero, the radio will say "Mute", not 0 ..... I know is weird, but effective.
