Re: Service Keyless System

See the wire in the lower left of the picture? That should plug into a module attached to the big ring of plastic which forms the outside of the spare wheel well.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Service Keyless System

Thanks all for this post. New member here and was running into the "Service Keyless System" issue. I read through the posts on this thread, went into the garage, and fixed it!

One quick note for any further readers - for 2014 Grand Cherokees, the module to plug into is attached to the plastic threshold for the spare wheel well, but can only be accessed by lifting the rear trim piece that has the two rear ties downs. You do not have to fully remove the rear trim piece, but you do need to lift it out of its clamps. There were some references to its location on previous posts, but I wanted to provide a little more color.

Thanks again!

Re: Service Keyless System

Thanks all for this. New WK2, passive entry has never worked. Could be that they disconnected when installing the tow bar. salesmen didn't know, the service department said that the earliest they could investigate is in a months time!

Using your advice I found the disconnected plug and it's all working - about 5 minutes work once I found a 7mm socket to remove the two tie-down's.

Thanks again.

Re: Service Keyless System

Guys I need your help! I followed the instructions and managed to remove the plastic cover for the spare tire, but I couldn't find any module attached to it. I did found two sockets one grey and one red and black. If any one could post a pic of how the module looks like it will be highly appreciated!! Thanks

Plug the red&black one into the grey module. Pic with them disconnected.

Thank you Steve - it took all of 5 minutes Didn't need to remove the tubs or wheel surround, just the tailgate threshold piece. Saved me a trip to the dealer.

Re: Service Keyless System

Thanks to you all for this thread, it helped me out today after an auto electrician left a connector disconnected during install of a brake controller. Your stated problem and solution explanation enabled me to solve the issue myself, now I'm back to normal.

Re: Service Keyless System

Thanks for this thread. Just bought a 2015 SRT yesterday with 23k on it. Drove it a few hours home and noticed the "service keyless system" message and thought, great... I just got out of a BMW X5 and was thinking this was going to cost a small fortune to fix. Took less than five minutes and it's working fine. On the '15 the plug setup is identical but the coloring of the wires is different. Thanks again everyone!
