single horn blast when setting alarm/locking

Hello. Just purchased a new Overland with a lot of bells and whistles. Wish it had one less bell: does anyone else think the single horn beep when you lock it is excessively loud? We live on a quiet, private street where we never hear horns. When I lock it (as I always will, from habit), I'm sure that single blast has my neighbors wondering what is going on. Does anyone know if the horn beep is configurable? Muted? Does it stand to reason that a wire is going from the security/locking brain to the horn (I'm sure you can see where this is going). Beep on.

Read Your Manual.

You can disable the horn from sounding when locking the vehicle.

Re: single horn blast when setting alarm/locking

Haha yeah the honk is extremely loud. I am mainly use to the chirp my Lexus makes so I get shocked every time I lock the GC. I turned it off in the settings. But now it seems weird locking and not making any sound wish my mirrors would at least fold in.
