Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to this threads topic of "Sirius Satellite Radio":

"Chrysler Group LLC and SiriusXM announced today that customers who purchase a properly equipped 2015 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck vehicle or select 2014 model year (vehicles purchased after July 1) will receive a complimentary five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link.

"Chrysler group is proud to be working with SiriusXM to deliver connected services designed to help customers stay conveniently connected to their surroundings while maintaining focus on the road," said Al Amici, Head of Uconnect Systems and Services Chrysler Group LLC. "SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link are beneficial services that provide drivers with the daily information they need and use to stay informed on the latest entertainment updates and traffic and weather conditions."

The services enable traffic information, detailed fuel prices, weather conditions, sports scores, and schedules and local movie theater listings. Systems that will support the five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link include Uconnect 8.4AN, Uconnect 8.4N, Uconnect 730N and Uconnect 430N.

UConnect is just a bad deal at $19.99 per month in my opinion.

FWIW...I have a 2014 Overland that I bought in Aug 2013 and the Sirius promo just ended...I called yesterday to try and work a deal and the best they would offer was the same deal as on their website..1 month free...$200 a year for the all access plan. I said no thanks and they hung up. I did notice yesterday afternoon that I am still getting prob 10 total stations as a preview (most of them suck) and the traffic and weather still shows as active under the Sirius info button...wonder if all the 2014s got the free 5 years or they just havent gotten around to turning it all the way off yet. I agree that the sound quality of Sirius sucks pretty bad but enjoy Howard Stern and all the options on long road trips..I told them the truth, its only worth $100 a year to me given the poor sound quality and my other options (Spotify being the best one)

FYI those stations will end after this week. They are doing a promo.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

My wife and I finished a two week sojourn to Colorado and used Sirius extensively. We totally enjoy it and is worth the money, to us. I have no problem with the sound quality in either of my vehicles, but then I'm no audiophile.

I have one lifetime subscription and two yearly subscriptions. The Traffic feature is worthless in my estimation and not worth the money. It worked great in 2010 when I took delivery of my JGC Limited and steadily went down hill. Hope they have it worked out when I take delivery of my 2015 Cherokee the end of this month.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

The "promo" turn on happens every few months...it's currently active on my MY12. I expect it will go away in the next few days. They usually last about two weeks and it "turned on" early last week while I was on vacation.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

I renewed for 5 months because I wanted the traffic which is really pretty good. It took 10 seconds to remember why I didn't originally, and won't again, renew the music service. Streaming Spotify over BT just blows it away quality wise

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

My trial is almost up. I ruined my ears when I was young with loud car stereos, playing in rock bands, and making sure I stood right in front of the JBL's at rock concerts. I mostly use it for the talk channels (sports & stern) anyway, so I can't tell if it sounds bad. They are sending me emails with discounts now, so I just need to do some research and pick one.

What State do you live in? I ask because the SiriusXM Traffic feature for me sucks ass. Just last night while traveling south down rt. 93, I got another non-existent phantom traffic alert "Traffic jam at exit...", then it tried to direct me off the highway to avoid it.

Greetings,

If I am not mistaken, I believe that Sirius Traffic uses the same source as does Navteq. With my IGO Primo app, which uses the HERE (Navteq) system, I also get phantom traffic alerts. I have instructed my app to give me the detour option by request only instead of automatic.

Best for now.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

The best way to renew the SiriusXM radio and Traffic for little to no cost is to get the Jeep Credit Card. You can use the reward points from that to get $50 SiriusXM gift cards. I very seldom roll anything over and pay interest on it but if you do the Jeep Credit Card is one of the cheapest around.

Except states where invoice fee is prohibited. I've been renewing $25 for 5 months promo for several years and never had this fee (NY state).
