Thank you Joe but not necessary as I already know he didn't get all I listed at a discount price unless he signed a multi year contract or has more than one receiver. Yes, you can get a lower subscription rate but it won't be for all of the stations, with Traffic, with Travel Link, or with SiriusXM internet radio. As you stated that may not be important to some people. What was bothering me was that people are comparing apples and oranges. Yes, you can get a lower subscription price but no it will not include everything. What people need to compare are the prices of each individual package and what it includes, not just prices in general.

You got me interested - I thought I had all the stations, so I dug up my invoice and it says "Sirius Select - 5 months". From this page: Our Most Popular Packages - SiriusXM Radio it looks like I indeed don't have all the channels but I definitely don't care about missing ones.

I understand having all that SiriusXM offers is not important to everyone. But I do think a lot of people who are shopping on price alone and being offered these discount packages aren't realizing the discount packages don't include everything. I get the "buyer beware" philosophy and all but it is also slick marketing on SiriusXM's part because they know people will bite on that lower price before checking out what they are actually receiving for that discount price.

First rule of doing any kind of business successfully is to read the fine print before you sign on the dotted line.

The plot thickens: I just checked and I do have 2 Howard Stern channels even though "Sirius Select" doesn't include them.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

We let the Sirius trial expire for a few days. Prior to the expiration Sirius called and would not move much. It is a different ballgame once you've let it expire for even a few days.

I just paid $100 and change for 12 months of the select package. That includes all fees and taxes. I could have signed up for less for 5 or 6 months (various packages) but I didn't feel like keeping track of when it expired except for once a year. I will call and cancel so that the thing does not renew at full price at the end of the 12 months. Then the game begins again.

I have had Sirius XM for years in my truck. I am a baseball and talk radiio freak and besides the compromised sound quality of the music, I like the musical variety / selection and commercial free nature of many of the music channels. You hear stuff on the satellite you just don't hear on terrestrial radio anymore. Maybe you can hear the same kind of music on Pandora...I would not know.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

They gave me an $89 select package for 12 months. With the fees it was about $100. No howard stern but I don't listen to him. I had to threaten to cancel to get that price which was 50% off the price they had auto renewed me at after my $35 for 6 months deal ran out. At least I dont have to deal with them for a year.

Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

I bought a new dodge Ram in 2004 and as an incentive offer they were offering lifetime Sirius subscriptions to buyers ( which I got !)
I be they never thought someone would have the same vehicle 11 years later and still using it and loving it.. Its just one of the reasons why I won't trade or sell this vehicle... (2500 RAM Cummins Laramie)
