I had the same issue at first. In my case I didn't leave the CD in long enough for it to run all three of the updates. The process is not intuitive at all. After the first one which gave the Travel Link menus, it left me at the clock with the radio off. So I ejected the disc and was left with no data in the menus.

On a whim, I put the disc back in and it actually sat there for 60 seconds or so before asking me if I'd like to start the other updates. Once both of those were done, the data appeared relatively fast.

Hope this helps!

You guys rock! Running through the process again and letting it sit while it apparently is doing nothing resolved the issue.

I have to confess - I just bought a Challenger with this radio, but it turns out you Jeep guys know a little more about the internals of these cars. I hope everyone won't think less of me now

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

UPDATE ON TRAVEL LINK SUBSCRIPTION COURTESY EXTENSION:

Earlier this year I received a letter from Sirius that confirmed that my at-the-time-nonexistent Travel Link subscription would be extended by one year as a goodwill gesture. Several of us received similar letters.

Yesterday I installed the patch and it went smoothly. I then visited my online account manager at sirius.com and was not able to see the TL extension (in my case, till 12/28/12).

I contacted Sirius just now and a helpful CS rep listened to my story and explained that due to the vagaries of their internal software, they are not able to see certain statuses under certain circumstances. He said that it was entirely possible that my extension was in the system but that data was not available to him. He could only see the expiration date of my initial 12 month subscription for audio+TL service.

However, he offered me the chance to do an advance reservation for service into my 2nd year, at a reduced rate (12 mos for the price of 11). There is no obligation and I may cancel this renewal any time prior to my anniversary date, or I can convert to a monthly (vs annual prepaid) billing method with no penalty. Since there was no downside to me, I agreed.

Once he updated my account, he said that my TL extension was in fact now showing up. He told me that the software was set up to act this way for some reason, and that the TL extension was showing up as complimentary.

Just passing this along in case anyone else contacts Sirius for similar assistance on the courtesy TL extension. I also told my rep that he might be getting calls on this from other 2011 JGC owners. Hope this recap made sense.

Man, that sounds like BS. I've had similar experience with Sirius where they auto renewed my subscription without my permission and told me they couldn't cancelled the renewal without some supervisor who was convenienty not available. Follow up calls were similar. Lucky for me they renewed to a cc that I'd cancelled. I got several calls after they figured that out but did not renew.

I felt safe renewing since I've used and enjoyed Sirius a lot over the years and it's a safe bet I'll have the WK2 for at least 2 years if not longer. But I have to agree that the situation seemed vaguely sketchy.

I noticed today that if you click on a particular gas station on the list it will show you the prices for all grades of fuel and also shows the date the prices were updated in the system.

Thanks for posting that! I am awaiting callbacks from both Jeep and Sirius while they "look further into the matter". Hopefully someone has a fix for an extension.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

Just did the update on our Overland - You just have to be patient between steps - time between step 1 to step 2 was long - about 7 minutes before the Travel Link DB update appeared. Just waited and it eventually appeared. The rest of the update worked perfectly. System is fully up and the Travel Link showed up under the subscription with a check box.

Works great......!!!!
