Does anyone that has the 430N have the "Sirius Travel Link" working? I called Sirius this morning and per Sirius I have Travel Link active on my account (actually it is the dealer account as they had already set it up), but following the instructions on page 115 of the 430N owners manual does not get the service. My 430N does not have the icon for the service that should be listed in the Menu screen. I believe the problem is in the software for the media center, but I wanted to know if anyone had it working?

Sirius traffic provides live traffic data

sirius traffic link provides things like movie data, weather, sports, gas station prices, ect...

i have the 430n and it does not have have either. IT is SUPPOSED TO HAVE sirius traffic link as shown in previous brochures. I thought maybe a software update would include this service. Milous looked into it and verified it was supposed to include it but cannot confirm why it is not available or if it will become available. Its not a big deal if it does not have it...but...you should get what they say you're supposed to get!

I have read other posts on this forum that said the same thing, but I have not seen anything in writing from jeep that said that. It does not say this in the user guide, or in the 430N owners manual that I can find. The manual clearly shows you how to use the feature and says nothing about it not being available on some 430N models. The 430N itself was late availability but is available now. The manual also shows you the screen that shows you have this service, but when I check the screen on my unit it says I don't have Sirius Travel Link. Sirius however says I do have it. Something is clearly wrong here, and I have sent an e-mail to jeep customer service asking for help in this matter. I will post there reply if I get one.

The whole radio head unit thing seems to be a bit of a disaster.

I'm still waiting for Chrysler/my dealer to tell me how and when they are going to get me the 430N that was listed on my sticker. My Limited arrived with a 430 and we've been going back and forth for almost a month now.

Seriously?

That's ridiculous...

Did anyone get a response to this or figure this out?

I am having the exact same problem. Picked up my Jeep on Saturday, dealer says it has travel link, the radio is the 430N. Took the Jeep back on Monday for some sounds in the door sill, which were resolved (loose screw), also told them that I did not get a travel link soft button, per the manual. When I picked up the Jeep yesteday, they said to call Sirius and activate travel link, of course that does not work.

I also e-mailed customer service on this question (when will it work, will we get a subscription extension because it hasn't been working so far?). This answer they just provided doesn't give me a warm fuzzy:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to provide technical assistance. You may contact your local selling dealership for further assistance and
information."
I haven't contacted my dealer on this. Has anyone? Anyone been successful in getting any answers?

Please keep us posted. I'm a tech junkie and my Overland won't be ready for another 60 days because of tech package(rear collison, blind spot, etc) and it's bad enough the 430N doesn't have sirius traffic. Two of the features promised (Sirius travel link and text messaging) on it and I according to these forums no one cam get them to work!

I can't wait for my Overland but they better have all features on 430n working or I will not be a happy camper!!

I sent a request in last week as well. I haven't received a reply.

I asked my dealer not long ago and they had no idea what I was talking about. But they sure did talk about travel link when they were selling it to me........

Ok I have an answer now about the Travel Link. You are not going to like it but it is what it is. I finally got a call from very nice and knowledgeable person at Chrysler who knows what is going on. It is in fact a software issue and the issue has been addressed as of yesterday. There is a software fix that will be going out to 430N owners by way of a cd to fix the problem. If you don't feel like you can do the upgrade yourself you can take it to the service dept and they will do it for you. Here is the bad news, there will have to be testing done on the new fix before it is released and the legal department will have to bless it. The estimate for the release of the fix is Jan 2011. Ouch! I asked about an extention of the service since we will be well into our one free year when the fix becomes available and was told no decision has been made yet, but they are talking about about extending the service. He sounded hopeful that we might see an extention but no promise.

Well I feel better there is at least acknowledgement about the problem. I can wait until January if that holds true.........Just think by the time we get he update it will be like getting a new mod when we finally get the update. :)

Does anyone know when the update for the Sirius Travel Link will be available? I bought my 2011 Grand Cherokee the 1st of October and I can not get my travel link to work. Both Sirius and the jeep dealership where I bought my have no idea how to get the travel link to work or even show up on my 430N navigation unit.

My local Jeep service confirmed that a software update for the 430N to enable Sirius Travel Link should be available in mid January. They were not aware of this feature, nor that it was missing.

I talked to Sirius and my Jeep dealer and got the run-around: Jeep said talk to Sirius and Sirius said talk to Jeep. Sirius had me park my GC outside of my garage sitting in it for over 30 minutes so they could re-send signals and have me reset the system to no avail--they went on to suggest that I go back to the dealer and have them start "resetting" radio/naviagtion modules...not sure I want them to start messing around like that--the dealer is also UNAWARE unlike some of your dealesr about any software update for the 430n in January/mid-January...I hope your dealers are right! We are supposed to have Travel Link and it'd be nice if it worked!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Sirius Travel Link is "Da Bomb"!
I just purchased a Lincoln MKS Ecoboost AWD with the Sirius Traffic and Travel Link. I just love the Travel Link as I can see a five day weather forecast and view a regional live weather map. It also shows nationwide weather and five day forecasts for each state and major cities. The sports section is cool, as I can input my favorite teams and check scores. The fuel prices section is helpful. I have not tried the movie listings yet.

I'm hoping that the 730 R coming out in January will be basicly the same system as in the Lincoln. I'm holding off ordering an Overland Summit until I know for sure that it will be equipped with the new Nav system.

Sirius Travel Link is definitely worth waiting for. I hope that Chrysler/Jeep can get the Sirius Travel Link to work for 430N owners.
