Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

I would like to thank the uploader of the files and all here that post. I just followed the instructions and all went without a hitch. I had spoken with my dealer about the missing features and all they would tell me was they were aware of the problem. So I guess when and if they send me the cd i can just file it.......lol
Will be taking it in for a service soon so will see if they say anything.

Here's what I think:

1. If your vehicle was built between August 16, 2010 and January 22, 2011 you will be mailed a CD, and your subscription to Travel Link will be extended by one year. Or, you can schedule your dealer to do the update under warranty.

2. If your vehicle was built after January 22, 2011, you will also receive a CD in the mail (direct from Sirius). Your TL subscription will expire at the same time your original 1-year sat radio subscription expires. You can also schedule the update to be done at no cost.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

Milous-I think they are still only covering (with a one year extension) the 930 vehicles which list travel Link on the sticker. Even if your vehicle was built between Aug 16, 2010 and January 22, 2011, you won't get an extention if Travel Link is not listed on your sticker (my situation). Instead, they are now willing to have Sirius send you out an update CD. This is a waste since anyone can download it and burn a CD. They apparently don't think they have a legal obligation to provide an extention unless Travel Link was listed on the sticker.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

The letter I received from Chrysler along with the update disc (my Grand Cherokee is not one of the 930 - no Travel Link on the label) states: "Your Travel Link service will be active and remain active for the duration of your factory loaded one year Sirius Satellite Radio subscription. At the end of your subscription you can contact Sirius at (888) 539-7474 to renew."

Checked my account at Sirius and there was no extension to the subscription.

I believe that is correct, although not overly clear on the bulletin.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

Bibowles-When was your Jeep built? If it was built by January 22, 2011 and not one of the 930 vehicles, then my previous analysis appears to be correct.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

I installed the update this afternoon, using the .ISO file posted here (thanks dkcentaur!) The only discrepancy was that I had to wait seven minutes, not the two minutes mentioned in Chrysler's instructions, after the first two files were flashed. During that time, the radio displayed a clock on a black screen as it does when turned off.

After final reboot I have Sirius Travel Link, but I don't see much value to it. More important to me is that the power-on-to-ready time is significantly reduced and the backup camera comes on much sooner.

Re: Sirius Travel Link 430N

Did anyone else notice if all of their equalizer settings were set back to 0 after the update?

I'm not 100% sure if it was from the update or maybe when I had it in for service a few weeks ago.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. The speaker balance had also reset to full centre position, instead of slightly off as I had it set before the update. Also, I had to reset my default picture. No biggees.
