Does anyone that has the 430N have the "Sirius Travel Link" working? I called Sirius this morning and per Sirius I have Travel Link active on my account (actually it is the dealer account as they had already set it up), but following the instructions on page 115 of the 430N owners manual does not get the service. My 430N does not have the icon for the service that should be listed in the Menu screen. I believe the problem is in the software for the media center, but I wanted to know if anyone had it working?

When I access my SiriusXM account online, it shows two different services. Both of them show an expiration date exactly 1 year from the date I took delivery of my WK2. Evidently it wasn't turned on in my vehicle until it was PDI'd for me.

One other dealer told me that the lot jockeys almost always activate the sat radios when they come in off the truck so that they can listen to good stuff on the dealer lot. Doesn't speak well for the SOP at this dealer, but could be a common practice that would explain several months of the subscription being burned prior to taking delivery. Just a guess. I would b!tch to the dealer first and see if they cop to it.

The number at Sirius I called was 1-866-880-7234, the number was on a welcome letter I received last week from Sirius. My GC arrived at the dealership on 12/28/10 and picked it up on 12/29/2010. The other thing that bugs me is there is no mention of the Sirius Travel Link subscription on my trial Sirius subscription either.

I have the 430n, and my travel link is not working. I called Sirius and talked to tech support. They obviously could do nothing for me (not surprisingly, they were quite confused by the whole situation), and referred me to my dealer. Called my dealer (Marino Chrysler, Chicago) and he had no idea what travel link even was. Ha! I explained the whole story to him and I asked him to look into it on Friday, and he said he would get back to me Saturday... Im still waiting to hear back. I don't know what's worse, Sirius' or the dealers lack of knowledge.

I'll post any news I receive.

Gee, first it was to be out by January, then February, now March. Wonder in what month (and year?) we will actually see this patch arrive?

This issue, the shark fin group buy, the Hemi v Pentastar, snow tire, and oil change debates, the "What the eff color is saddle, anyway?" issue, and the delay with mjw930's WK2 are all part of a sinister plot by the JG admins to make this site "sticky".:lol::lol:

I called the Chrysler cust service line and was told an update to install Travel Link will be mailed out starting at the end of Feb and if I did not get it by March 1 to call them. Has anyone recieved the CD?

I haven't received anything....and would be extremely surprised to see it by the end of March the way this thing has been going.

Last week I got a call from the dealership that the firmware update for the 430N was available. I brought my Jeep in at lunch for the update. After 1.5 hours they had done nothing because they didn't know what to do. At 2.5 hours they realized the update that they had received was not for the RHB.

The manager apologized for the confusion, and admitted they have too many radio options and configurations, and performing this type of service is not their area of expertise. Electronics software updates are my area of expertise, and at this point I would rather just get the DVD sent to me directly and do it myself.

I'm with you, WK2 Rover. I'm happy to do this sort of thing on my own so I can take my time and map out my backup plan (to restore the current system in case of a problem with the update). I'd also love to have the ability to backup the HDD before the update. That'll be a hassle if the updater wipes all data from the drive.

I just got a delightful call from Katie, who is with the "Continuous Quality Department" (probably a contractor). Her team handles callbacks for any owner comments on the 45-day survey that require follow up.

She was calling specifically to address my comments about the 430n and Travel Link. She had just received a memo which stated that 430n owners would receive an update (when available) on CD. We knew that.

She added (still reading from the memo) that 430n owners would receive Travel Link for the balance of their Sirius trial subscription, PLUS an additional year of Travel Link. This was a new make-good perk that I had not heard before. Assuming the updater really does activate the TL feature, I think that this will be a more-than-adequate resolution by ChryCo. But let's get that updater happening...first things first.

I hope that they actually do come out with a firmware update, but I've had many different new cars with issues like this where everyone is hopeful that the manufacturer will release a firmware update, but it has never happened on any of them. Overall the 430N is great, but the stereo bluetooth (A2DP) has issues with the iPhone 4 unless you turn the screen on the phone off. Also, you get an error when connecting the iPhone 4 via USB. These are the two issues I'm hoping get addressed if they release new firmware for the 430N. Both of these things work fine on my phone in my other car.

yesterday, i called sirius customer support about the problem of no travel link on the 430n radio. I have a 2011 jeep GC overland with the 430n RHB radio. She eventually found a november 2010 note in her manual saying that at the present time, Travel Link is not compatible with the 430n radio (the RHB and one other version that i can't recall), but that there would be a January 2011 update! So, she said, Call your jeep or chrysler dealer for the update. of course, the dealer says to call sirius....

anyway, maybe the update will issue in the next few weeks.

My Sirius traffic works.. The icon is there
As I'm on a trip the road colors change based on the traffic and it adjust the eta based on traffic ahead and it has even told me to detour based on traffic and it displays icons for construction ahead or even an accident..I think this is what your referring to. I took delivery of my overland nov of 2010

Sounds like you have a 730n RER unit (check in lower right hand corner for 3-letter code). The issue is with the 430n RHB unit.

Chryco called today about the 430N. Was told that an update is forthcoming by April, and that a notification card would be mailed to all 430N owners when the update is available at the dealer. It is supposed to provide Travel Link and some other fixes for phone compatibility issues. We'll see. Bruce

I just got a call from a "Jeep service representative" (presume the same folks from Chryco) with similar info. They must be reading from a script. The message was: a letter will be sent out to registered Jeep/430N owners sometime in April advising them that they should contact their dealer to have an update installed. I asked if this update method was going to replace the disc that we were originally told would be mailed directly to owners - first in January, then February, then March. The rep wasn't sure whether we would also get a disc in the mail or not. The biggest news she had to offer was that the Sirius satellite radio IN ADDITION TO the Travel Link would be extended to April 2012. I think that's the first we've heard that satellite radio would also be extended. Fingers crossed!

April?

I had to talk to Jeep myself, So I called them on Tuesday. (I forgot the guys name) Told me that Travel Link should be on there. I explained to him the whole song and dance that was going on with the 430n. He knew nothing about it.. (I wasn't surprised) He put in a trouble ticket for me and said that a higher up rep would be contacting me with-in 24 hrs.
The next day I got a call from Jeep. She told me that they are aware of the problem and they will be contacting me (or all of us with the 430n) by mail in April. Once we get the notification in the mail, We will have to take our JGC's back to the dealer to get the update for the Travel Link. (Not a disc in the mail) She did say we will get the extra year of service for the innocence. My question to her was "What part of April, begging, middle or end? She didn't know the answer to that. So for the mouth of April, I expect all of us with the 430n will be running to the mailbox to see if this is the lucky day we get our Travel Link..
