The dealership has no idea how to fix problem. I opened case with customer service. In the past month my Jeep has spend 16 days at dealership. It is currently still there!

I am going to wait and see what Jeep customer service does for me first. I contacted Kristen, she handles all the u-connect issues. She told me she'll handle it from here and will contact me with an update. The dealership said they have been on the phone numerous times with Jeep tech support but everything they have tried failed. I just don't get it two radios later and all this B....S... over XM radio reception and navigation unit not tracking correctly.

Re: Sirius XM Acquiring signal?

I did have issues with acquiring signal on satellite and other reception issue on the radio. I had the dealer do the tsb for that which is to replace the shark fin antenna and the issue has been resolved.

Re: Sirius XM Acquiring signal?

Update: Get a call Sat at 4:30pm from the dealership to come and pick up my Jeep. Seems they replaced the radio, antenna and did a master reset. The notes say they were on a 3 way conversation to a tech in Michigan and a tech from Sirius radio. Can't believe it took this long to get to the bottom of this issue but I am glad it's resolved. Not sure if it's a coincidence but I opened up a star case with Jeep a few days ago and 3 days later the problem is solved. On a side note having the maxicare service contract entitled me to a rental car (Chrysler 200) Even though maxicare covers only 5 days they said I can keep it for as long as they have my vehicle. In my case the extended warranty is already paying for itself. Total rental period 19 days.

Re: Sirius XM Acquiring signal?

It's too bad it took a Star case in the first place to get that resolved. I didn't have to go through all of that to get my radio issues resolved, and it didn't take 19 days of sitting at my dealership to finally come up with the fix.

Sorry you had to go through all of that.

BIZJET, just curious... did they replace the fin antenna with another fin antenna? Last time in they checked for my 2014 JGC Limited and service dept. said there was no tsb for my vehicle.

But, my reception isn't nearly as good as in my wife's Nissan. Yes, there are trees at times, etc., but she had a mast antenna, I have the fin. Can I replace the fin with a mast? I also had a 2011 JGC with a mast and I don't remember the reception being this bad. It isn't all the time, but I remember better in the 2011 and it is better in my wife's Nissan. Maybe need to go to a different dealer and claim bad reception in a clear area.

Any thought?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Sirius XM Acquiring signal?

Yes they replaced the shark fin antenna with another one per the TSB for my 2014 overland and all the issues corrected themselves.

Re: Sirius XM Acquiring signal?

If you have the shark fin stick with that and have them do the swap and you should be good to go. Print that TSB out and any others that apply to your vehicle and get them all done. Mine is at the dealer now for various TSBs,these guys see me walk in and their eyes kinda roll 😂they know how I am about my vehicle so there's no hesitancy in performing anything.
