Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

I had Sirius in my 2009 JGC and enjoyed consistent service. Traveling within the same areas in my 2013 JGC Limited, I find Sirius suffers many annoying interruptions of service.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

I have noticed Sirius reception breaking up pretty bad sometimes in my 2014 Overland. Never had much of a problem with it in the Buick Enclave that it replaced.

Also went from an Enclave to JGC, and experienced the same thing. The only time I would lose the signal in my Enclave was in my garage. The Jeep cuts out rather frequently, and their Travel Link signal is slow to download a lot of the time.

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

My Sirius radio drops out for a second almost everytime I go under an overpass, which is pretty often where I live. Rather annoying. There's no way to buffer it so that doesn't happen?

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

I had a GMC Envoy and a motorhome with XM radios. Neither vehicle lost signal as much as my 2014 Overland. It cuts out frequently. I lose signal where I have a clear view of the sky, but where there are trees along a narrow road.

Ii seems to me that it got worse with the upgrade to 13.19 but I can't be sure.

I notice the same thing, with a lot more signal drop-outs than I get in my BMW. Although, I think it has gotten a little better with the 13.19 update. (Hard to be sure though since the 13.19 came with this jeep, which was a replacement vehicle for an earlier build that Chrysler took back. The first car had 13.10 and then 13.15 and dropped signals more often, but it also had other issues with the radio that could also have affected that.)

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

I test drove 2 2014 GC 's today. BOTH had same Sirius problem of fading out a second or two after going under an overpass. Is this normal for GC? If so, it's a deal breaker.

That happens on my wife's Mercedes.

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

I can't speak for underpasses, or overpasses, but I can confirm that the SiriusXM in my 2014 JGC Limited suffers from many more interruptions than was the case in my 2009 JGC. Maybe an antenna problem on the new models...?

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

Same here XM reception on my 2014 is definitely the weakest of any car I have ever had, not terrible but definitely weak

Re: Sirius XM Antenna problem...?

The XM on wife's 2012 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited drops out in same places on the road as my Sirius, but for longer stretches.
