Sirius XM - vehicle module

I have a 2012 Overland with the 730N radio. I have a current subscription for music and traffic/data. As of the other day, I can only get music. The subscription info on the UConnect display shows that I have an active radio subscription, but not traffic and data despite my having a current account.

Already performed are two "refreshes" and a "reboot" of the system with the assistance of Sirius. After troubleshooting, Sirius is telling me the problem is with the module in the vehicle, and that I need to take the car in for inspection. I would like to be informed before taking the car in. Can anyone educate me on the module referred to, if it is the likely cause, and how much this might set me back? TIA

Re: Sirius XM - vehicle module

I have a 2014 Overland with the 8.4AN radio.

I had an issue with my Sirius XM going out several times during my 50 mile round trip commute to work. I'd get a popup "XM service loading... please wait" message. A couple of minutes later it would come back on.

I had all the latest software updates and I went through the same rigamarole and got the exact same responses that you got from Sirius. Sirius, like almost all other product customer support is about as worthless as bringing a knife to a gunfight.

At the time this was happening, I noticed that it said I was unsubscribed to the Sirius XM radio (I was subscribed) and that I was subscribed to Sirius Weather and Traffic (I was unsubscribed).

The dealer service tech tried everything to track the problem down... updates, satellite reboots and on the phone directly with Sirius. No luck.

As to the XM module, not sure where this magical component is actually located... as an external component or integral to the radio itself. What finally fixed my problem was replacing the radio. I suspect that's what you'll need to do as well.
