I usually do a one year contract. When you sign up, avoid auto renewal as I've heard it is very difficult to cancel your subscription, plenty of customer service complaints.

I don't think the traffic service is worth it, but thats your call.

It depends. How often are you planning on keeping your JGC? With the difference between the 1yr plan on the lifetime, you're looking at about a 4.42yr payoff before the lifetime plan starts making sense. If you know you're going to renew every year and you're going to keep it past 4.5 yrs, buy the lifetime subscription. I purchased the lifetime Sirius on my 2009 Dodge Ram (it was 399.99 plus taxes then) and the break even point was about 3.4 yrs at the time. It's also a potential selling point down the road if/when you do sell.

there is Different plan levels me for one only really use the music so I renew at the music only plan there is a basic of News and Music. If you want sports channels then the more expensive plans are in that . Looking at those prices it seems it s the most expensive plan they want you to renew at

I just got my renewal so this is great info to have right now. MY JGC has the 730n RER radio in it.
The plan rates listed are as follows
For the Serious Select package
monthly 12.95
Quarterly 38.85
yearly 142.45
2 year 271.95
3 year 401.45
There is no mention of the traffic portion other than it says to call them

While I do enjoy Sirius I only drive my Jeep less than 5K /year, the rest of the time I ride my bike.
I think I will hold out to see just how good of an offer they can make me.

Had my dealings with Sirius this morning. I've been subscribed to XM for quite some time, but was on a shared plan so the yearly contract fee was "fair" in my opinion. With a comparable Sirius package, it was well over double that. My trial expired this past Friday. I called this morning and was offered a 6 month service on the Select plan (same thing I had previously) for $21 (plus all the bs taxes). I prob could have gotten them to work with me a lil bit better on a year package, but was at work and didn't have much time to push their buttons. :)

Just sharing my expierence.
