I installed the RHR, and am currently running SW version 1.911 and Gracenotes 3265. Does anyone know what the current software version should be, and if there are updates?

Has anyone trusted leaving their vehicle while the update is running? No reason it shouldn't work.

I like that the head units manage their own power and honor power state commands over the CAN-bus, UNLESS there is a power priority like during an update.

Mine took about 20 minutes to upgrade. BTW, the Jeep just needs to be in ACC position, not in the run mode. As soon as I get my nano back, Ill give it a try.

I did it yesterday. With A LOT of tense moments.
I had the disk (ISO), put it in, and start the procedure. When about 92-95% done, I got a message - Serious problem encountered, process aborted (or equivalent).
Unit did not shutdown, no software buttons, the hardware ones had no effect. Left it as it is for about half an hour (dinner time). I found the unit still with power - the car was off and locked.
At that moment I decided to pull out the fuse. Unit off, put the fuse back, the radio started the update procedure right away. I tried several times, did not open.
Same thing with the second fuse, or the combination.
The update was starting at about 50%, and failing on different stages (files).
I was lucky enough that one of those restarts did finish with no error.
Only then I was able to eject the disc.
Was a TDK -R ..... scared me to death.

I want to do this. Does it need to be any specific type of disk? DVD-R or DVD+R? If asked for a security code what should I enter?
I used a DVD-R, built from the .iso image; be sure to let your burning software verify the disc. I burned mine using the Windows 7 component and it worked perfectly.

As for the security code, it shouldn't ask for one after an in-vehicle update. The default for the RHR units is 1234. The only time the RHR should ask for a security code is when the VIN changes from what was last registered.

My Home address has stayed stored
I do have the new iPod issue(not recognized or screen stays locked on "connecting" but plays, I just can't change the the sign or list)
All the other issues with favorites (green star) have remained.
My favorite teams and gas stations were gone within an hour of setting them after the update.
As I asked before *SOX*, can I switch back to the version prior to this one that came with my 2012? The new iPod issue is a PIA

you can not switch back, only if you have en older software.

please install the update another way on your RHR.

my RHW works great, the ipod / iphone function i have no diffrent and no freeze.

try again, this can help!

Did you by any chance try setting your 2.120 back to factory defaults?

My iPod via BlueTooth works the same after the update sometimes connecting right away, sometimes two tries, haven't tried the cable yet.

Favorites and home seem to be holding, but it has only been a couple days. Looks like the trail and breadcrumb feature is improved over the 1.9 I had OEM, along with weather radar. The turn prompt seem to have some improvement (switches to dual screen when approaching a turn and often providing a "road" view. Still no speed limit indication as far as I can tell. Doesn't seem to be any nav improvements otherwise.

The acid test will be if 2.120 resolves the vanishing sat presets and nav home settings for those who routinely go back and forth between driver 1/2 settings. I have to redo these almost daily with 2.116, as although the Overland is supposedly the wife's vehicle, I keep using it anyway.

So far the fearless ranks of 2.120 pioneer users haven't had much to say on this, perhaps because it's too early to be certain?

Lingohocken, I'm still not sure that switching fobs has anything to do with memory loss. I have never used the second fob and still, I occasionally lose the home address and address book entries. It doesn't happen as frequently as does yours though.

I suspect you're right, Cherokee. Symptoms suggest it is in the vehicle's electronics bus or something comparable, which may be why we haven't seen a TSB and may never see one. (It's already been a year, now, which is beyond any normal time frame.)

Yet, hope springs eternal. That's why it would be helpful to hear whether 2.120 users have found any improvement.

Just had an update call from Chryler's Customer Service regarding the 730N RHR issues many of us are having. I opened a service case on mine and the rep just told me it will be quite a while yet and they have no idea if, when, what will be done etc, etc, etc. Buckle up.

Jeep Mediagate?

No surprise. After a full year of not fixing the problem in production and/or with a TSB, you have to wonder whether they've decided to just let it go unfixed.

A proper solution might entail more than a simple software fix -- perhaps a wiring change, new media center or both -- and it's not a safety or operational issue. Too, it hasn't been covered in the automotive or general media, so there's no fire being put on their corporate backside. Even in JG complaints have been pretty muted.

We do know that using the driver 1/2 door switch will often trigger the memory wipeout. Given that scrap of knowledge, perhaps some sort of workaround can be devised?

Besides telling the wife she can't use the Jeep anymore.:D

Well it's happened again. Lost all SAT preset for driver 2. Wife used the GC on Sunday and I was back in it yesterday. Hit driver 2, get in and SAT presets are all the 1800 registration message. It didn't loose the FM presets, I wonder if it would have if that was the last mode it was one when I last used it.

I know she used the same keyfob I use as I leave it in the GC in the garage. I did the 2.120 update about two weeks ago.
