I installed the RHR, and am currently running SW version 1.911 and Gracenotes 3265. Does anyone know what the current software version should be, and if there are updates?

I just called my dealer and talked to the idiot on the phone. I told him I'm running 1.908 and asked him if this was the latest. He told me he didn't know and to upgrade I'd have to buy a disc for $300 from the parts department. I paid 60k for this car and I want to have the latest software.

How do I go about updating?

tell them that your saved home address keeps erasing itself and your presets keeps disapearing.

That should do it... then ask them .... do I have the latest update?

Just updated mine...
1. US 2012 - 5.7 - Limited - August build
2. Took about 20-25 minutes to complete
3. Did not delete music on internal HDD
4. It did check the DVD disc for errors prior to update - nice anti-brick feature
5. When completed wait for the update screen to pop back up (update to same, etc...) I was seeing the am radio on, then the update screen popped back up when complete.
6. Overall smooth update.... I was nervous for a bit.

I will try to program my home addy and preset sat channels to see if this fixes it. I will keep everyone posted.

My 11/2011 built WK2 has App 2.116. Is there a later update? Thanks

***THANKS SOX***

Just completed the update (using the *.iso file) on an early RHR unit running version 19xx software. The ISO file burned perfectly to disc !

The update completed successfully, however it took OVER an hour to complete. No errors were reported. The unit powered off at the completion of the update.

I verified the new software was installed but it is too soon to report any change in functionality or performance....

Its really simple... just burn a dvd after downloading it.

The install process checks the dvd prior to the actual update to make sure your burn process is not crap. Good anti-brick feature.

1. I have not lost my presets yet, its been 3 days
2. I "think" ( <- keyword) it sounds better. Its probably just me. After install the eq de-faulted back to stock 0-0-0. I previously had it jacked around for my liking. Ever since the update I have not changed it, sounds the same as before with the adjustments.

The stock stereo still sucks, I think it has more top end around 30-38 volume. I am probably just crazy

Are you moving regularly back and forth between driver settings 1 and 2? On ours, that's the only way the presets vanish, and even then only once every "x" days or 1/2 changes.

Hi guys - I've been watching this thread.

I just installed the 2.120 update on my RHR 730N in my 2011 WK2 as well. I burned the DVD from the .iso file via Windows 7. The update install required about an hour to complete. Besides the time required, the process was very user friendly. Looks like Windows CE.

Some notes:

I got bored and exited the vehicle and got back in and cause it to exit RUN mode - the 730N, however, remained powered until the update was complete even though the rest of the electrical system had shut down. Nice.

The file copy progress appeared to lock up on occasion which made me nervous, but no worries. There is probably some decompression going on. The update is long and boring, so be prepared.

I have the Lockpick V.4 installed and it caused no problems. It remains fully functional after the update. It actually has nothing to do with the application software on the unit, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone was concerned.

It appears that the update loads and builds before it is applied in the last few steps, good software engineering.

I have a 16GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit (micro) flash drive that lives in the front USB port, and the system initialized it and started playing form it faster than ever before, after the update. It was instant. That could have been circumstantial; I'll pay attention to it.

Happy holidays!

Edit/added: Thanks SOX!!

I updated mine to 2.120 tonight. I had 1.908 and Gracenotes 3211. Gracenotes was not updated as part of the upgrade. I've seen some people report that their Gracenotes was updated as part of the update, but it wasn't for me.

While I have had my HOME address disappear a few times, it doesn't happen very often so it may be a while before I'm confident whether its fixed or not.

There is at least one neat new feature and that is the display of a weather map with radar that wasn't there before.

Running 2.120. I drove home (Denver) from Colorado Springs tonight and I totally dig the 3D/bird's-eye view for road trips. However, something odd that I noticed is that my RHR is showing *some* construction/road-conditions on the map and also listing them. This is odd because i do not have a Sirius subscription. ???

I do have Sirius data connectivity as I can play the music preview channel. But I am sure that this unit is not subscribed to Sirius service. Could this be a data artifact from a left-over expired subscription or something? The unit was aftermarket, pulled from another 2011 WK2. I did not notice any of this before the upgrade.

I will watch it and look into it tomorrow. Otherwise, so far, my 2.120 update is running swell!

Also, on a side note, my friend pointed out today that the RHR is labeled "HARD DISC DRIVE" - haha. What? Nerds and geeks will recognize that this should read "HARD DISK DRIVE". Are they hybridizing the term to indicate the HDD and the DVD drives on the unit?

The use of "DISC" is specific to removable CD/DVD/BR media. There is no such thing as a "HARD DISC DRIVE". :) Swing and a miss?
