Note also that Lockpick works by interfering with the speedo packets on the CAN bus to make the head unit believe the car is not moving. In this configuration, it always displays a speed of 0 even when the GPSr is tracking.
You are correct. The speed on the Nav screen is derived from the CAN bus wiring. The lockpick filters the speed data from being used by the head unit. I would have installed the AllGig module (a LockPick-like workaround module) weeks ago if I ever got a confirmation that the CAN Bus wiring going to the amp was "daisy chained" off of the head unit, but I couldn't ever verify it.
