Re: [SPEAKERS] How would YOU build this system?

I wonder how best buy would do if I handed them those speakers for the install?

Re: [SPEAKERS] How would YOU build this system?

3022cfx dash
9620cx front doors with tweeters in the A pillar (6X9s)
6522ix in the rear doors.
Is this the correct setup locations for the infinity reference speakers?

Bluetooth has come a long way since those days... That's ancient info. An interesting tidbit in the spec for Bluetooth if the source (your phone, say), and the sync (headphones, speakers, car etc), can both decode a different codec, that can be used instead. This includes MP3 and AAC. In other words, if your phone, headphones, and car both have the ability to decode MP3, you can stream MP3 without re-encoding the signal (via SBC or aptX) at all.

To be honest with you Bluetooth sounds better than aux input in a lot of vehicles and headphones already even if compressed with SBC or aptX (which allows for CD quality streaming over Bluetooth anyway). There are actually even headphones and headunits that only allow specific hifi logic options on Bluetooth source only because of the ability to modulate/process the digital transmission. And it's so damn convenient that it's worth any minuscule difference regardless these days. Years ago it was terrible and absolute garbage that I will agree 100%. Now, not so much.

"It never happened if there's no pics jgcrp1😎"

ImprezziveWK2 has some good pics posted, though, i'll take some and post them prior to putting the panels back on. Just the tweets in the front doors to go. Will get to them later this week. Only broke one fastener ... some of them i really had to pull hard, so shocked i didn't break more. Sound from my nano is great even without the tweeters. Looking forward to getting them in and breaking the speakers in. I asked Car Toys for a quote to install (was going to buy the Infinity's they had on hand and buy the 6x9 components from Crutchfield but they wanted way too much. For grins i should have asked the guys at Best Buy for a quote ... wasn't thinking i guess.

Re: [SPEAKERS] How would YOU build this system?

I guess breaking the tabs is just something that can and will happen even with the lightest pulling. I hope breaking tabs doesn't cause a rattle in the doors where the tab was. Are you thinking of putting any sound material on the doors before you put things back together? I'm actually close to buying the same speakers you and impressive have purchased and having best buy do the install for 99 bucks..at least there's some recourse if there's an issue. Crutchfield has free shipping over 35 bucks. Check my previous I looked everything up on crutchfield and wanna make sure it's all good on the item list. Thanks

There will be a HUGE difference between SD and Aux.

You are use the crappy headphone jack DAC and AMP from your phone and there is a very good chance the Aux input goes through an ADC (for the Balance and EQ which I'm sure is done digitally). Then through another DAC.

Re: [SPEAKERS] Need some advice on how to upgrade!

If BB will do it for $99 then it's a no brainier, let them do it. No, I'm not planning on using dynamat or equivalent. Have some left over from an old install, but not going that route. No it won't rattle as it was just a fastener and I'll pick up another. It didn't fall into the door. Good luck with your order.

Greetings,

Depending on the phone and headunit, the compressed quality of the signal will vary.

Bottom line, a compressed signal does not have the same impact as an uncompressed signal that give you the most detail. It is important to remember that the signal starts at beginning where the source material originates from and how it is outputted onto the source material. The headunit is not the primary source, it just a receiver of the signal.

However, the bluetooth signal, IMHO, is far better than what the SiriusXm tuner produces in the JGC.

Best for now.

Greetings,

I am sure that the Uconnect radio in the JGC and even in the aftermarket headunits for the Aux input does not have a Burr-Brown or similar DAC or ADC chips. Even if you have a source with a hi grade DAC and plug into your Aux jack, it will still be crappy.

Folks, it is better to use the USB or SD card source input rather than the Aux as the source input.

Best for now.

Re: [SPEAKERS] Need some advice on how to upgrade!

Installed the tweeters this a.m. and put the door panels back on. The sound from this setup is amazing. Some may say the Infinity's are too bright, but i like the clarity they produce. Will be interesting to hear how much better they will sound after being broken in. Everything was simple plug an play except the tweeters. ImprezziveWK2 was right on with using the 3M double sided tape. Just wrap each tweeter twice and they "snap" right in ... perfect fit. I've included a pic of the tape so if anyone does the same install, they'll know what to buy from Lowe's/Home Depot.

Thank you, how about the Bluetooth? Is that a decent input for audio or no?
