Did I misread or did you use a alpine mrx f 35 and a pioneer gmd8601? Was one for the fronts ad one for the rear doors?

I wanted to go with an Alpine amp, but couldn't find the one I wanted so I did some research and the new 2013 amps by Pioneer kick butt so I went with that.

The stock front speakers are 6 X 9, so I used an adapter bracket to fit the aftermarket 6.5.

The stock rear speakers are 6.5, so the aftermarket speakers fit no problem.

Thanks rage I appreciate the info. Do you think the speaker sizes are the same for the 2014s?

You're welcome. I'm pretty sure they are the same size.

Re: Spring A/V upgrade project

Is there anywhere we can fit a small low profile sub in the GC, maybe even an 8". I was thinking under the driver seat but I will need to find a new spot for a smallish low profile amp.

The stealthbox comes to mind, but it's ridiculously expensive for what you get. The Pioneer amp just fits under the driver's seat. There's half an inch to spare.

Have you considered a JL Audio Microsub? I have this one from my previous car:
CP108LG-W3v3 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Systems - FlatWedge

It will not fit under the drivers seat but won't take up much room in the cargo area either. I ran the microsub in previous car and was shocked at the output - I was only feeding it with ~230 RMS. JL also has a dual 8 version as well.

Nice work man. How do you like The UI on the alpine unit? I ordered an ine-w927 which should be pretty similar to yours. Main thing I want is good interaction with my iPod. Also I don't really care about the sirius tuner, do I still need those splitters and adapters you purchased for the GPS?

Re: Spring A/V upgrade project

If I do go with a sub, it will probably and unfortunately be the Stealthbox due to how well it integrates into the Jeep. I use all the trunk space and often have the seats down so using any other sub is out of the question.

The UI is great and very snappy, but it's a very busy UI though. Lot's of info and buttons. Overall I love it. You can tweak everything.

I put together that adapter using various adapters because I wanted to use the Jeep's SAT antenna for the GPS and SiriusXM. I did not want to have to install those magnetic antennas that the headunit comes with. You could simply purchase the below adapter to use the Jeep's SAT antenna for Alpine's GPS:

GPS antenna Extension cable Fakra male "C" to HRS GT5-1S grey 10/15/20/25/30cm | eBay
