Did the jeep harness plug right up to the new speakers? If you snug the screws down does the tape really make a difference?

I'm wondering with no amp initially and using the stock amp how much changing the dash speaker and all the door speakers will improve the muddy stock speakers

Looks like a good job by the way... What tweeters did you install?? What's the difference in sound with the new ones?

Re: Spring A/V upgrade project

I ran all new wiring to the doors. The wiring goes to an aftermarket amp I installed under the driver's seat. More info on this in previous pages of this thread.

The Alpine SPR-60C is a component set, comprised of a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter.

Seems like an excellent choice and one I'll probably look into.

you don't have any pictures of how this looks all put together do you? you took such a nice shot of the wiring harness but this isn't part of it. would be appreciated.
thanks

I will! I didn't have time this weekend. Maybe sometime this week.

Re: Spring A/V upgrade project

one last question. did you ground everything to the ground wire from the PAC adapter or did you ground to the chassis somewhere. i noticed in the install instructions it says to ground the radio to the car somehow. i need to ground that, the p brake wire and mute wire for a bypass and also another ground for the app radio wiring.
thanks

I grounded the headunit to the PAC RP4-CH11 interface. It has a ground wire so use that.

Re: Spring A/V upgrade project

Rage I thank you for this write-up! I am wanting to do a very similar project, except I have the stock Alpine 9-speaker setup in my Laredo. I am hoping to find some information about if I can keep the stock amp in and just replace headunit and speakers and be on my way (since I don't want to get TOO involved in the project). I am looking at the Alpine INE-W927HD for the headunit, and speakers I am still deciding on. What have you heard about the Alpine I am looking into?
