Thank you for the information on the wire harness.
In brief, the Hi-Speed Can Bus system
was design to cut down on the amount of wiring within the vehicle in order to save weight. This is for the connections between the various computers and systems that are interactive. The wiring is done in series (serial) connections in a continuos loop (a termination point is more technical). Simply stated, the wiring for a computer is sent to some part of the engine which then is connect to a another a computer or system so on so forth. For example, the information from the air conditioner can go thru several computers and systems until the data is recognized by the computer needed to process that information. Their is no
central computer that gathers all the data and knows which computer to send it to directly.
I had early issue with Can Bus when I installed aftermarket HID lights. Because the HID lights were not compatible with bus system, it effect the air suspension where it would not work properly. My installer had to reorder the HID lights for the HI-Speed Can Bus and now the problem is solved.
With regards to the sound system, as of now, if I remove the factory amp, I do not know if it will effect something else or the amp is a termination point. The new Jeep Service Dealership I going to try to find out this information. Meanwhile, the harness manufactures refer to Jeep for those answers.
Enjoy the tunes and trails.
