Stealthbox Installation

Got my Stealthbox installed this weekend. Overall, not a bad install at all.

Installed both the JL JX 500/1 and the Audio Control LC2i under the rear passenger seat. Fit perfect and made running the wires really easy.

I took the remote turn on from the rear cigarette lighter, and used factory grounds for the amp and the LC2i which were located near the seat belt.

Took both the L&R signals from the factory sub into the LC2i.

I ran the JL Remote Bass Knob and installed it in the center storage compartment where the SD card is. I would not recommend skipping this component. I change the level with almost every single song I play.

Initial impressions are good, even though it's a little boomy and directional, I think it'll smooth out after hours of play. It's very impressive for a single 10" sub.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I threw in a picture of the factory amp. It's tiny!

Greetings,

I had similar results.

With an aftermarket DSP time delay function or headunit with time delay for the sub channel, by playing you can bring the bass forward. It will be still directional since the speaker is still pointed in the same direction.

Best for now.

What did you use for a DSP?

Greetings,

2 DSP's were used.

JBL MS-8 for the Logic 7 and Rockford Fosgate 3.sixty.3 for the fine tuning. The 3.sixty.3 was also used to tweak the delays.

Best for now.

Re: Stealthbox Installation

Looks good. Doesn't the LC2i provide REM for the amp? Just curious, and I've used the LC6i, and didn't have to run a separate remote turn-on. The LC6i had signal-sensing turn-on, and provided REM to the amp. One less wire to run/tap.

yeah, it does. I ran remote power from the rear 12v cigarette lighter to the LC2i, and then from the LC2i to the amp./

Re: Stealthbox Installation

Can you please confirm to remove the quarter panel cover, just follow page 94 instructions from the PDF guide??? Or should I start with C pillar removal (page 23) then D pillar removal (page 49)?

What I meant was, the LC2i doesn't need a remote trigger either? It has the GTO Signal Sensing (Great Turn-On) -- which powers up the unit when the signal is present. No big deal. It works either way.
