Re: Steering Wheel Audio Control Issue

Wow thought it wasn't such a deal and others are seeing it as well. It was a December build and guess they found the box of extra (flawed) buttons stashed under someones desk and decided to use them.

Wife doesn't use it but it bugs me. I'll call it in a couple of weeks before the first oil change and make sure they have the part in to make only one trip. About another 7K to go then.

Thanks for replies.

AMEN Brotha! I think the same thing daily.

one11sgt and dutch, had to bump this thread because I thought of you both today when I stumbled on a feature of the left side steering wheel button.

It's true that pressing the center nub advances through your presets in ascending order. HOWEVER, if you break out of the preset cycle by pressing the up/down buttons (either one), and THEN press the center nub, it puts you back at the very beginning of your presets.

Ex: I've got 1,2,7,12,14,15,33,60,131,152, etc. programmed as presets. Let's say I get to 15 and don't want to go through the rest. I press the up key to get to 16, then the center nub takes me back to 1. Works great. I didn't test what happens if the up/down button lands you on a station that is already a preset but my bet is that it doesn't matter-- the next press of the center nub will take you back to the start of your preset stations. Give it a whirl.

UPDATE: Turns out I would have lost that bet with myself. You can only reset the preset advance sequence by landing on a station that is NOT a preset. After that, pressing the center nub takes you back to your first preset station.

Yeah, I notice that sometimes as well. My 2000 Limited had a more solid feel to the radio controls on the wheel, never had a problem switching with a light finger touch while turning. Seems the WK2 has lesser quality controls, they do feel different.
