I've noticed lately that the center audio control button on the left side of the steering wheel doesn't always work the way it's supposed to. The button is supposed to scroll thru your Sirius presets but sometimes it just goes to the next channel instead of YOUR presets. Example: It goes from my preset station 9 (The 90's) to station 10 (Bruce Springsteen E Street Radio) instead of going to MY next preset station 11 (BBC Radio 1). It's not a big deal but IS friggin' annoying. Has anyone else experienced this???
Mine works fine.. I remember reading about one or two people who had steering wheel control issues but it was more a malfunction of the button, yours works all the time but just sometimes doesn't do what its supposed, huh?? Might be a dealer drive by if you can replicate the issue all the time or often!
My button is doing the same thing. It will work throught the first one-third of the pre-sets then just start flipping through them randomly. Taking mine in next week to have that and the broken cruise control buttons looked at....
Mine does the same as well, going to the dealer this week for a fix... they tried once and flashed the ECU which didnt do crap- its a button issue not software issue
Nik
I had mine replaced, if I remember they may have been a TSB about it. If there was not a TSB I definately remember seeing other with the same problem on the boards here. The button is the culprit and not any type of software isasue.
Bought my Jeep November 3rd, informed the dealership within a week it didn't work properly (along with a laundry list of other malfunctions). The part arrived the first week of January - didn't work. So, I had another ordered which was installed in late-Feb (the Thursday before I got my BWoody prototype actually). It still doesn't work. To my knowledge there is no TSB; i've been checking the wk2 site. Reps at Chrysler/Jeep are useless, I have given up.
stupid question, do you have to change a setting for it to scroll through the presets? mine just goes through all the sirius channels, and not my presets at all.
Same issue as Dan828 here. Sometimes it works just fine, other times it scrolls through the channels instead of the presets. PITA if you ask me. Guess I'll have to find time to take her in and have them replace the button.
stupid suggestion... but you guys are aware that it's a 3 button switch? up, down and a center that cycles stuff. was having issues until I realized it myself.
The top button moves forward through all channels, bottom moves backwards through all channels and the center is supposed to move forward through presets.
My center button has never moved through the presets, it performs a redundant function of the top button.
Mine sometimes goes down a station when you press up on the steering wheel controls, other than that the nav and radio work well. Much better after having the jeep dealer updated for the iPhone 4 issues.
mine is all messed up also but I figured it was user error. I guess it's an actual issue. I have the same thing, if I hit the up channel button it will either go down a channel or switch presets. I can only get the center button to work once out of every 5 tries. I quit using it a few weeks ago because it makes me mad. To the dealer it goes.
that's on the right side, the left side center when in SAT radio/radio should cycle the the presets... I noticed mine misbehave, but i addressed to my fat fingers... if it annoys me much more i will tell dealer...
Thanks everyone for posting comments. It makes me feel less crazy in thinking it's my fault or something. Also reconfirms having the actual issue because I know when I bring it up with the dealer there going to tell me I'm not hitting the button properly or blame human error for it happening and not a faulty switch or wiring. It drives me crazy when it happens. I'll keep you posted.
