Anybody know if iTunes playlists can be played from an SD card or USB flash drive? Will the music format be an issue?

XM is horribly compressed and terrible in general (not Jeep specific, just the nature of the bit rate).

Re: Stereo Volume Relatively Low

I found the sound quite low using my phone over BT. My normal radio was fine. When I loaded my music on a USB fob, the fidelity was quite different from the phone, and the volume much more responsive. I, too, bumped down the bass, but I think that has a lot to do with the mix of the music you're listening too. I have one particularly boomy album that I turned it down for.

I have not tried XM. (It's there, it works, but I've spent no time there, so can't really comment on it.)

If I had an SD card reader/writer, I would use the SD card, simply so that I could connect my phone directly (say, for charging on a long trip) without losing my music. I may still buy a reader/writer and a blank and swap over.

For my USB stick, I just mounted the stick, and drag and dropped folders of music from my iTunes directory on my Mac, and it all seems to work. I get album names and music titles, I can Voice select albums and songs, and the tracks seem to be in the right order. I heard someone mention something somewhere about album cover art, but I don't see that. I don't have it myself, so it's not particularly surprising. I have not tried iTunes playlists or anything like that.

Yes they will work. I exported mine to a temporary folder on my hard drive. Copied the songs to the SD card. Edited the playlists using a text editor to match the directory structure on the SD card. Then made a folder of playlists and copied the playlists to the SD card.
