Stock audio upgrade to 430n

Hi guys

I read through the forum and found some usefull information about swapping 11 - 12 stock RES to 430N but everybody had u connect in their stock radio which made the swap easy .

I have basic stereo (RES) which dosent have u connect .is it possible to swap to 430N?? I don't want to add u connect functionality .i taught center consol will look much better with 430n and GPS

Please advice guys

Yes you can just won't have the uconnect since the 430n does not have the module built in and it is a separate item. I went from the RES to the 430 RBZ (non nav) and now to the 730N. All I can say is make sure you the unit you get has the GREEN lights and has the correct mounting tabs on the top and bottom, not the sides. Some people sell them and don't know that they also come in blue from the durango plus there are so many versions of the radios that your head will spin lol. Also any unit after 2012 will be Antitheft and require a security code. If they don't know what it is you will need the VIN # to find out what it is. You can keep an eye out on eBay and should be able to find one. Let me know if I can help.

After you upgrade, check the forums for the latest available software versions. The newest you can download is 50.xx.x. You can also get map
updates available on the net. The latest version that works with the 430N is 2014.40, but you have to install it before you upgrade the software to 50.xx.x.

Re: Stock audio upgrade to 430n

Sorry to revive an old thread, however I am looking to upgrade my 430 to a 430N. I know it is pretty much plug-n-play, however will making these modifications throw some red flag so to speak when going to the dealer? Since the radio is tied to the VIN, will they update the VIN accordingly on dealerconnect or will they refuse service?

You're worried about nothing, I guess if they were going to update your 430 for you, which the won't, then maybe. Nothing else to worry about.
