Tell Me How to Run Wiring Through the GC Firewall

It's time to get serious about electronic countermeasures. I've got an Escort 9500CI radar/laser detectors system on my other car and would like to install one on my 2012 Overland.

The most challenging part of the installation always seems to be running wiring from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment, a requirement of this setup. Most vehicles have a place where this is relatively easy to do; the trick is finding out where that is. Is there a location anyone would recommend, where a wire bundle is threaded through the firewall? Ideally, I'd like a location on the driver's side, someplace where I wouldn't have to tear the dash apart to access.

Any recommendations? Thank you!

(Mods, this seemed like the most appropriate subforum for this question . . . but I always stand ready to be corrected if I blew it!)

Easiest firewall thru access I have found is on the passenger side a bit behind the TIPM. For interior access, you'll need to remove the glovebox, but the access grommet is pretty easy to get to afterwards. Even easier to access while under the hood.

I've ran several misc wires through this spot and bringing them over to the driver's side is cake.

Easiest way to refer to it is the fuse box on the passenger side under the hood.

Re: Tell Me How to Run Wiring Through the GC Firewall

Does anyone have any pictures? I got the glovebox off, but don't see much I see a grommet going into the engine bay, but don't think it is the same one I see and it is way down under the red jump start post? Any ideas, as I am trying to run a simple wire or two trough the firewall the easiest way?
