Text Mesaging

I have an iPhone 6 (about a year now) and just today, my radio on 2014 Overland began notifying me of my text messages. Previously, it would only do this with my daughter's Samsung Galaxy S5. Wonder what changed. I just upgraded to ios 9.2 (beta) on the phone

Re: Text Mesaging

Need to enable "Show Notifications" on the phone. Found when hitting the "i" next to the connection in the BT settings.

Re: Text Mesaging

If you are still having trouble with iPhone texts I've found a way that so far is working for me. Very similar to all the advice out there with a minor tweak.

1) turn jeep on with engine running (not sure this matters but only way I've done it)
2) delete phone from uconnect
3) forget uconnect on phone Bluetooth settings.
3) pair phone to uconnect
4) hit the info "i" button in Bluetooth settings on your phone for uconnect
5) enable notifications
6) hard reset your iPhone. Hold the power and home button down.
7) Do NOT turn off engine during full process
8) reboot iPhone and test. You should not at least get text messages read to you by uconnect

Re: Text Mesaging

No not yet. I've honestly just been excited to get it to receive messages. Uconnect tech support did nothing and it was maddening knowing my best friend has the same jeep, same year and the same phone and his received messages but mine didnt

Re: Text Mesaging

The ability to not reply is really making me consider ditching the iPhone and go back to android. The S7 has been announced and is intriguing but will wait a lil longer n see what Apple does with the iPhone 7. Not liking the idea they are scrapping the jack for ear buds. WTF?

Re: Text Mesaging

I was able to just enable this and have it work without the jeep running or the hard reset. Just go into the Bluetooth connection and enable notifications... Like magic it works.

Siri works fine and will pick up the "voice" button presses after you initiate the conversation with her via the phone the first time.
