That still doesn't explain why his dealer tells him D1 but the tracking done here shows D. Perhaps we are talking about 2 different vehicles?

There's two different tracking systems. Milous uses one, the dealers have access to another. Example: Milous' tracking doesn't show when it's in the varying stages of production, the dealer tracking tools will.

It doesnt? then how does he post detailed tracking information such as "on rail car in toledo ohio", or "at facility for inspection" etc etc? Seems to me its the other way around Milous has access to the full detailed system.

I have the same question and would like to see Milous response to this. Besides, regardless the tracking system the status us constant. I doubt it can be D1 in one system and D in another. Then again, stranger things have happened.

Yes, but those aren't "in paint" or "body in framing," for which there are indeed special status codes (F and E statuses, respectively). The bottom of this page has the complete list of codes, but note that in the tracking thread Milous really only shows D1, then built and undergoing inspection, then KZ, then the transport info. People have reported calling the customer service line or checking with the dealer and getting "F" status (paint) while Milous still was showing "D1"- his system doesn't update until the thing rolls off the assembly line.

As I said, there's a couple different systems. My dealer had a piece of info Milous didn't show when the one I had ordered fell off the grid for a month (it wasn't that helpful a piece, but it was a piece).

He did weigh in on this some months back when we were kicking this around.

Lots of threads here will call Jeep again before end of day and respond/confirm, etc. I provided the new VIN and told them the original order is now void and they understood. Stay tuned with confirmation. Not for nuthin', but my original order went D1 pretty quick but stayed there for quite some time...

I called the hotline today and asked them about the 730N RHR. they told me that it there are some Summit Editions that have the scheduled build date that had the RHR.
They also told me that no the Summit Edition is standard with the RHR as well.
And they are telling costumers to expect 8 to 10 weeks from when the order is placed to delivery.

Your first Overland (----37) rolled off the line about an hour ago:

Built - Pending Inspection: (I) 01/20/2011 03:05 PM CST Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI

I show your Overland as going to D1 early this morning. Only the selling dealer has access to the pre-D1 details ("B/C/D" status, framing/paint etc.). Once a vehicle hits D1 then it goes into the master system, of which I have access to. The tracking system can be erratic at times, errors and discrepancies are not uncommon.

That's kind of what I thought and I saw the status update in the last refresh on the tracking thread. Interesting dates, I'm doubting they will meet them

Mjw930 (Overland)
Date ordered: 12/27/2010
D1 status date: 01/20/2011
Current status: D1
Estimated delivery: 01/29/2011

Note the 9 days from D1 status to delivery to dealer! I'll lay hard cash that ain't happening and that's OK, I hadn't planned on seeing it until late Feb.

Re: The 730N RHR can be ordered but when is it suppose to be in production

Just out of curiousity does anyone know if it is possible for the Jeep hotline to look up exactly what options a vehicle has once a VIN is available?
So if I call and say here is my VIN can you confirm the 730N RHR and Saddle interior are on the options list?

Thanks,
James

Re: The 730N RHR can be ordered but when is it suppose to be in production

Just called Jeep to confirm I have a valid (new) VIN that is in D1 status. She was very nice, didn't seem real technical but stated that the new VIN is in fact valid, scheduled gateline and she believed was in D1 status. She also said that they aggregate similar orders (in this case, Summit orders) by feature then run them through production all together in batch format. I have no idea is this is right, am not an expert in this area, but did think this was somewhat interesting and sounds realistic. That also MAY explain why some orders flip D1 and perhaps even get produced quicker than other orders that stay D1 forever, etc. etc. I think that even though I just re-ordered my car last week and may have be in D1 status already is not as relevant as the additional orders that JEEP would need to get to produce a number of these at one time. I'm assuming mine may stay D1 for some time, just my opinion and hope I'm wrong! Good luck to everyone on this list in getting their car asap...and in good working order. Hope this helped.
