Re: The Back UP Camera feature is set up WRONG from the factory

How about letting the car warm up for 3 secs before taking off?

Re: The Back UP Camera feature is set up WRONG from the factory

I will say these comments are very funny... so, i must share an experience i had with my Denali as it relates to the reverse camera and the reverse beeps.

i get home from playing golf on a hot, humid NC day. All body parts nasty and sweaty. looking forward to a hot shower and clean skin.

arrive at shower with water on, slight smile on the face... no soap. crap, forgot to get soap for the last 3 days. fed up with using shampoo, I head past the wife's book club in living room (clothing added by this point) into garage. I just purchased a new denali (now for sale to be replaced by jeep) equipped with all the electronics including a backup camera.

very pissed off due to having to go to the store to get soap, open up garage door, fire up denali (i must say with the 6.2 liter engine it sounds great starting it in the garage) throw the car in reverse, crunch... WTF... book club guest parked behind the garage door. ready to kill someone (mainly myself) i get out to inspect the damage.

Envoy grill totally crunched, denali bumper barely scratched. go inside to break the bad news to bookclub guests...

so, $1,200 later, i finally got my bar of soap.

lesson learned, let the computer boot up and make sure you use the right hand on back of seat and neck turn exercise listed above...

Funny now, but I bet it wasn't then! I was laughing as I though you walked past the book club in the buff...until I saw the parenthesis. I sure hope that was one nice bar of soap....it sure was expensive.

Re: The Back UP Camera feature is set up WRONG from the factory

Do you start the Jeep and immediately put it in reverse? The radio/nav takes a second to boot up... so maybe get in, start it - then put on your seatbelt and what not and I'm sure by the time you're done with that the radio/nav will be booted and when you put it in reverse the cam will show.

Also, if you're in that big of a hurry, you could remote start it before you get in orrrr just turn around and look yourself.

There is a reason as to why jeep puts a "safety" screen there. Dear god.

I am usually done backing up in 3 seconds , so why have the camera ?
