Re: The Back UP Camera feature is set up WRONG from the factory

I never turn around and look out the back window when backing up.
The proper way is to use all your mirrors, both internal and external.
THIS is the correct way. I should know, I am the best driver on Jeep Garage!

I honestly have no clue how to upload a video from my cell phone. I am on vacation now or I would have contacted my dealers service manager (who is excellent) about this problem.

Re: The Back UP Camera feature is set up WRONG from the factory

Oh jebus

I never ever use the back up camera when backing up. I ONLY use it to tell how close I am to an object that is behind me or around me. But before I get into a parking space, I use the gift of the eyes and looking around me myself. This is why cars don't need of of this technology.... its just making us bad drivers.

What happens when you are driving in snow or in the rain and this mist/snow builds up on the camera to the point were you can't see? Do you not back up?

Never use technology like this to replace common driving skills.

IMO

Well the technology has changed and I rely on my backup camera when I back up and I don't give a sh-it what legal issues chrysler is trying to protect.
When I go to back up and can't see anything in my backup screen it is not as safe as if I had an image of what is behind me. And I did not spend 43 grand for a safe driving lecture. I plan on going to the dealer and see if my vehicle can be fixed, that simple. By the way have fun twiddling your thumbs waiting for the rear view screen to make it's appearence.
I tried over and over to do this today, but could never get my hand off the gear shift and close enough to my other hand fast enough to make my thumbs twiddle before the camera was on. It is almost instant! Nowhere close to 3 seconds.

What system?

I have a 430N and it does take around 6 or 7 seconds from start-up until the back-up camera will show. That doesn't bother me much. It's about the amount of time it takes for the idle speed to come down some.

It is different than other people report, so maybe there are factors that make it vary.
