thanks for posting. Like many here, I have been following this closely for many weeks now and have delayed ordering, first anticipating to be able do so in December with maybe delivery 8-12weeks out. January is almost here and it appears that ordering updated 730 may not even be option anytime soon based on Chrysler's perplexing uncertainty with timing. also considering delays on saddle interior (which i now am going to pass on)and other options since launch, actually getting GC with this nav option could be march, April, or who knows when. It appears most with 430n are satisfied, with some actually preferring it's responsiveness. I am seriously considering just ordering with 430n, as superiority of new 730 appears arguable?

anyone that got the 430n regret it or are missing the few additional options new 730 offers? or any other advice...may be placing too much importance on this...

I have the 430N and am very happy with it (compared to other nav systems from other auto manufacturers). I really don't understand all the fuss about 430 v. 730 (except that one is "300" more than the other for $305). Maybe ignorance is bliss.

The fuss is that the new one is obviously the most recent offering by chysler and many of us would just assume wait a matter of days for it before ordering. Believe me, if the new radio weren't coming out for a year + (like the new transmission) no one would be waiting for it.

When you place an order for the Summit Edition (in which the RHR is standard), a "Premium Group Discount" shows up which gives a credit of -$305. That means the RHB is being supplied, and the credit will come off when the RHR becomes available.

The RHR also does not come up when trying to order a Limited.

Same for Canada.
any updates yet? also, what is the current expected wait time now for a new order (6,8,10,+ weeks?)

milous - thanks for all the info! this site is great!

No new updates on the RHR order opening date, looks like sometime in January/February. Delivery time is improving, but still probably looking at an average of 8-10 weeks. Welcome to the forum!

after waiting about 5 weeks for new 730, decided it wasn't worth it and may not even be superior, for my needs at least. if nav unit was that important for me I would be ordering a sync equipped Ford vehicle. placed my order today with 430. fwiw, my dealer guestimated 6 weeks.

Still, would much rather have the 430 with Garmin Nav. After test driving a jeep with the old 730N I was not impressed. And as far as I can tell there isn't much of a difference between the old 730 and the new one.

Re: The new 730n RHR ready for order yet?

I just stopped by the local ft myers jeep dealership (on holiday) and they happened to have a charcoal + w/nappa leather combo...4x2 v8, as they don't sell many 4x4's down here, lol !!
The car is visually impressive. Anyone ordering charcoal w/Nappa (or already own it)...this car is really beautiful. Anyone waiting for Nappa that have not seen it live...you were wise, it looks much better than the photo's. Most (if not all photo's) capture the rich color, but do not capture the unique 'grainy' aspect of the leather. It may be my personal preference, but I was very impressed with the interior. I would be really surprised if anyone is underwhelmed when they receive their nappa option.
Finally, I currently own a 730N (RER) on my wife's car and wanted to check out the 430N (Garmin, on my ordered car) option currently available. Again, pleasantly surprised. Chrysler's voice prompt system has not really worked well on my wife's car, she refuses to use it, so I was a bit jaded going into the test drive. However, the 430N media center exceeded my expectations. The interface is vintage Garmin, it's really a nice accent. It had a few nice little features that I liked like the system identifying given speed limit and displaying your current speed. If you are going 'over' the speed limit, it shows your speed in 'red'. If under, then 'black'. There were a few others. The voice prompting didn't work very well in the testing w/the dealer and it was awkward so the dealer wanted to move on and I didn't pursue. We didn't pair a phone so we couldn't test the SMS features or voice prompting here, again this didn't appear to be his specialty and he was uncomfortable so I didn't pursue. Overall the 430N worked "faster" than my current 730N (RER) and was visually impressive, so for me I was "sold". The sales manager (he knew his stuff but also wanted to push what was on his lot) did mention some patch that is coming out in Q1 for the Garmin, that was intended to plug in some of the 730N (RHR) gaps. Not sure if that's the case, I'll just take the 430N and see how it works out.

I've had a few Garmins and still do for travel. I have the 730N and find it better than the Garmins in some ways. The one big feature it lacks is calling out street names , but...I like the split screen with map on left and list of upcomming roads on right . It also tells me to turn on 3rd left for example . I only use basic features on any of my Navs and only use it when I need it so it never gets daily use. The 730N is also far better than the Nav system I have in my Audi which was part of a $2500 package.
