Hmm, that seems to be in contradiction with what's on the website and on my order.

Not trying to be a smart ass, just trying to sort it all out. I guess it will be like Christmas, I won't know what I'm getting until i open up the present

Sadly, I would suspect that my dealer is not telling th truth, I wish he was misinformed. Maybe I am jaded.

@ Milous : after reading this thread, makes me think (b/c I'm reading that a few cars may be in D1 status and gateline (but have not been built yet). Rather than wait on a dealer that doesn't really have much incentive to get the order perfect. Could the end consumer just call JEEP direct (877-IAMJEEP or another number?) and just have them input the note to add the 730RHR if the system would allow for such "notes"?? Chrysler/JEEP should already have the profile as long as the VIN/VON are valid. Just a thought...possible?

Well, not all dealers. My sister just got a loaded Infiniti QX before the end of the year (the Jeep GC is too small for her family and not luxurious enough either). She had bought another Infiniti SUV from the same dealership 6 years back and wanted a new one. She and her husband called ahead (two hour drive) to make sure the one she wanted was still available. When they got there the vehicle had been pulled off the lot, completely cleaned and spotless (was on the lot in the snow), with her name on a special sign and all, and was in the middle of the show room ready for her to drive it out of the showroom for the test drive. They negotiated price (and she is a tough negotiator who knew her stuff) and she bought it. Needless to say, I sure wish Jeep dealerships were like that...

It's confusing because Jeep has different pricing in different areas, plus they keep changing things. I'm going crazy trying to keep up with the changes, LOL.

In studying how it is in the order system now, they currently have the RHR included as standard for the Overland, no additional cost and no credit deduction.

But, if you order the Summit Edition, it says this on the order input screen:

"Credit: Media Ctr 430N Replaces 730N ($-271) ($-305)"

It looks like they might be making the 430N Standard on the Overland, and the 730N Standard on the Overland Summit Edition. That probably means that when the RHR becomes available, it will be an added cost for non Overland Summit Edition models.

Trust me, I don't envy you trying to make out the ordering system. Things are seem to be changing daily. Chrysler really seems to have grossly underestimated both the popularity and the product mix and has had to adjust on the fly.

Personally, I don't care which radio shows up and even what's posted on the window sticker doesn't meant that's the radio that's actually in the vehicle. For example, I looked at an Overland 2 weeks ago that specifically stated on the sticker "430N" but it had the 730N radio in it and no mention of $305. I just went back and looked at the same online sticker and it's been corrected to remove the line about the 430N in the Interior features section. Interesting, they change window stickers after the vehicle is delivered! I wonder if they sent the dealer a new sticker to put in the Vehicle?

Yes I know there are good ones out there I own a Lexus and previously an Acura. They are pretty impressive at the dealers. Some of the sales people are still a little shaky, but overall good.
It still kinda irks me when people say the new GC "isnt luxurious enough". Man, has she driven a new Overland with all options? Im trying to figure out what an Infinti could have that this new Overland doesnt. Id even be willing to bet the Overland actually has more luxury features and options. If not atleast equivalent. Unless its the name that isnt luxurious enough for her

Yes, it's true that the luxury dealerships do place a higher importance on customer perception of service than the volume dealerships do and if that's the type of coddling you need then they are more than happy to accommodate you. Remember that as luxurious as the WK2 is it's still a Jeep being sold at multi-line dealerships that haven't had a decent product mix to sell for quite a long time. Most are in survival mode.

OTOH, if the dealer relationship is important they you can't beat the "good ol' boy" charm of a small town, old school Jeep dealership. I ended up ordering from a smaller dealer in a neighboring town because I met the General Manager at the county fair when he was setting up the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep display. He said to stop by when I was ready to order. I asked who I needed to talk to about ordering and he said, "me, I do all the ordering, I'm the GM". I showed up the Monday after Christmas and there he was sitting up in the "manager's" booth the older dealers have that looks out over the sales floor. He motions for me to come around and we sit there logged into the Chrysler factory system looking at the orders he has in the system then flip screens and enter my order in real time in between him greeting returning customers as they come through the door. We even stopped when we got the the interior color section while he called his factory rep to get the latest on Saddle availability. Midway through the process the dealership owner comes in, the GM calls him over and introduces me and we spend 20 minutes BSing about all kinds of things. I walked out with and order on nothing more than a handshake and have stopped by at least once just to "check in" and they have been more than happy to check the order status and BS about current events.

I guess it's all about what is important to you.

What did he say about the saddle?

I've been waiting on this nav and passed on an Overland with saddle the other day because it had the Garmin. The sales guys didn't mention anything about the saddle not being available to order when he tried to order the new nav.

On 12/27/10 the word from the factory was Saddle was on hold for new orders indefinitely (except for the Summit package which is standard with Saddle). Their "best guess" was it would be released for ordering in 4 to 6 weeks. Obviously things change on a daily basis so what was true 2 weeks ago is probably not true today.

When I bought my Overland in October the base MSRP was $41,910 on the leftside top of the sticker. It had The 730N in it but under options on the right side of the sticker there was a charge of $305 for the Media center 730N. So that changed the price to $41,235. Then I started seeing Overlands with the 730N with a MSRP of $42,235.
Here is a window sticker wiht a base MSRP of $41,910 and the 730N upgrade with the $305 charge

Re: The new 730n RHR ready for order yet?

Any new update on the on Milous' statement about the new 730N being available to order wednesday? If I go to the dealership this wendesday it will be in the system? My order was placed on the 4th for my Overland but hopefully its still just in pending order status so that they can add it. I think he said they can when i called and asked last week.
