Traffic Radio in Australia

Hi guys,

I am from Sydney and I have a 14 Grand Cherokee Overland.

I was just wondering if it is possible to make to sat nav traffic update function to work because right now it does not seem to work at all.

Cheers.

Johnny

Unfortunately Jeep in Aust don't subscribe to the service so it does not work. Having had it in another unit it is fairly useless and often outdated anyway so don't think we are missing much.

I've only seen it work very intermittently.

On a couple of occasions now I have seen an intersection light up with car accident icon, and a double-beep is emitted as I approach it.

But there was no accident there, I presumed already cleaned up, and in each case the icon remained for an entire week before vanishing again.

More important than traffic data is that our maps are so out of date. I've been directed to drive straight through a building, go head-on into oncoming traffic via an entry ramp instead of an exit ramp, turn down roads that are now one way, and have driven along roads that apparently don't exist.

Edited: - Ignore, sorry - I've just seen you have an MY14.

Tillsy - do you have an MY15?

My KL had a Uconnect upgrade they other day to the latest version so I was perusing the TSB and noticed this:

Navigation giving incorrect guidance to exit the highway

The upgrade is to V14.47.1 and is applicable for the WK2 (MY15) as well - You may already be on it though (not sure).

Thought I'd mention it anyway.

TSB is here - http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0800715.pdf

Sounds like the same problem, appreciate the thought Unfortunately it is due to incredibly old maps - 2012.

Many of the roads here have undergone extensive changes since then - a massive one-way freeway is now two-way, a massive and dangerous roundtable has been changed to a dual system, etc. End result is the Jeep is giving incredibly dangerous instructions based on very old data.
