You didn't mention what makes it so bad. Sure it's just not your choice of music.

Three issues:

1. When the SD card is playing correctly, I shut off the engine, restart and most of the time it says "insert media"
2. Some times when I get in and start up the engine, it will show a musical note icon and nothing happens
3. Then recently, a new symptom: I start the car and it plays but the steering wheel AND on-screen controls don't work

But it's thrilling to hear that your system is working perfectly...that news made my day

Mine will sometimes say insert media, but only for 2 or 3 seconds.

Have you tried a different sd card?

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Overall my USB music list and playlists work fine (with the occasional connect device message for a few seconds). With that said, I have a minor issue. I have 897 songs on my USB, however Uconnect only sees 891. I haven't reconciled the 6 songs that it can't see yet. I also have a playlist of 194 songs, but Uconnect only sees 191. I did reconcile the 3 songs that it omits. The 3 songs either have a "(" or a single quote (') in the folder name so I thought that may be the issue. However, I have plenty of other songs that have one of these items in the folder name and they work - so I don't think that's it. I've put the USB back in the computer (Win 7) and copied the folder name from the playlist file (.m3u) and pasted it right into explorer and each song is found and played - so there isn't an error in the .m3u playlist file or the folder structure of the USB.

Also - logically, you would think that of the 6 songs in total that Uconnect can't see, that these would be the ones that the playlist can't find. I didn't check to see if all three of the missing playlist songs were not available in the complete library, but I did check out the first one. So song 1 (of 3) that the playlist doesn't have, is indeed one of the 891 songs that Uconnect sees. I played it and have no problems.

So I'm perplexed as to why this would happen. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not too concerned, but my curiousity would like to understand a potential root cause.

Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah that doesn't sound like an SD card problem, but hey, who knows. As an exercise have you tried doing a format of the card on your PC, or using another card as just suggested above? If you do, maybe just load a few songs... preferably from direct CD rips you know the source of. MP3s can contain additional info your car might rather regurgitate, and irregularities with the SD card file system could leave the vehicle doing unusual things as it struggles to make sense of it.

Just my thoughts,
Steve

From what I can tell, the radio creates it's own index of your music on the card when you first put it in, so if you added or changed a few folders, it will not necessarily pick them up right away. I had the same issue when I swapped out some folders on my SD card over the weekend, the new stuff was not showing in the browse list.

All I needed to do was put it in shuffle mode for a little while and it figured out the card had changed and updated the artist/song/track list.

Thanks for the input, but I don't think that's my problem. I put in a fresh USB and didn't change anything. Actually, when I first put the USB in, only 190 of the 194 in my playlist showed. When I reconciled the 4 songs, I saw that the .m3u had one incorrect file location and I corrected it. As soon as I put the USB back in and Uconnect processed the playlist (a few minutes), then the count went to 191. So there is some other type of issue that I'd love to figure out!

What's the best way to organize your MP3's on the SD card? Sometimes when I go to an artist and play a song it repeats continuously, like it can't find it's way out of that artist folder. If I have just one song by that artist that song will repeat. If more than one then it just plays that artist's songs and does not move on. What might I be doing wrong? And no, I don't have 'repeat' selected.

I have the same issue - if I go to a specific song or artist, Uconnect reports back song 1 of 1 when I go to a specific song and just keeps playing that song over and over again until I select something else.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

^^same here. I think it's a bug they will get sorted out in due time. That plus if you have it in shuffle, and land on an album you want to hear more of, you cannot just take it out of shuffle and seek on the currently playing album/folder.

On the flip side, at least it lets you shuffle the entire SD card regardless of file structure, big improvement over our VW that stays just in that folder when on shuffle.

Sometimes I swear they have people sitting here reading the forums based on the test reports, so good feedback

Taking mine in for first service appt since I took delivery in march (was Feb bld).. Other than trans flash, are there any other flash updates that we know of? Not gonna mention anything with radio, since I apparently am the only one that got a trouble free build of that haha..
