Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

If I had 100 votes on Audio-Nav system improvements, I would cast the votes like this:

80 - allow the Nav keyboard and full POI search to function when there is a passenger in that seat
15 - select a route by using all visible roads on the map (don't avoid roads that have not been verified). My experience is that the unverified roads are as accurate as the others. Today, the routes can be a long circle to the right rather than go 100 feet to the left.
5 - provide a "Bing" or "Yelp" function that is useful (allow selection of the search area and retrieve a sizable list of "finds" under the search criteria.)

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Ran the update last night on my 14 Limited 8.4A and all went well. No problems at all driving around today.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Something new this afternoon, although this is correct according to the owner's manual.

At least a few days a week while working in my garage, I pull the Jeep into the driveway. I open the tailgate with the button by the mirror to keep the car a little cooler. After dinner I hit the button by the tailgate to close it, then pull the car in the garage. I also leave it open when I am on the beach. I've done this at least a couple of dozen time. That is until today, when instead of closing all I got were a bunch of beeps. I had to manually close it.

The OM says that if left open for a long time, this is normal.

Using the inside liftgate button to open on mine has beeped a few times in the past 3 months and the liftgate didn't open at all. Finally got tired of trying and used the liftgate handle to open. These 14's do have some lose gremlins running throughout the vehicle. They should go back to running separate wiring circuits for everything. It may add 100 pounds to the vehicle, but whats that on a 5,000+ pound behemoth anyway.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Does uconnect control what is displayed on the gauge cluster? It seems pointless for the media setting to display a large generic icon and the station name when it could easily give you the details of what song is playing so you don't have to keep switching to the radio when viewing the map or anything else. Even when you use the map button on the radio/media screen it only displays the channel name or bluetooth audio instead of the song name. Certainly some serious fine tuning that needs to be done still.

I agree that the media icon is a waste. But if you are constantly switching back and forth, you are paying too much attention to the displays and not enough to your driving. I hope you are not doing this while texting.

You don't open it..... Please Please Please read the instructions attached to post 1. It even has a diagram on how to copy and paste the file (you don't get all of them just the one). And just to confirm, because of your question, you have a radio that did not come with factory NAV correct?

No you have the right file... as per my last post, did you download the instruction PDF in post 1? If you did and read it and have a specific question please let me know. I just don't want to retype on my phone what is laid out in pictures in the instructions but if you are stuck somewhere let me know.

Yes, best to follow them as it has all of the procedures laid out (except it shows more files). It also explains what to do when and this is important. The first post in this thread contains all the information and from a PC or Mac you can download and print the PDF instructions for use in the vehicle.
