Hmmmm, Hear some talk about repeat dealer visits. Not sure if this is related but I would love to hear more and also if other people hear anything like this.

Yes, I think this has been talked about for a far bit but this is an update... Many have already been fixed

IMPORTANT: Many of the vehicles within the above build period have already been inspected or repaired and, therefore, have been excluded from this recall.

I received a postcard from my dealer yesterday saying that there is a recall to reprogram the BCM. But I'm in no hurry to get it done. I think its only to address something about the drl's not remaining on when turning on the headlights.

I wish they would address the other issues going on with the 14's.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

I'm wondering if having Media sources (USB, SD Card) is causing some of the hiccups in the 8.4 Radio.

I took delivery of my JGC Limited on 5/11/13. Other than a complete shutdown of the dash and radio in early June, I've had no other issues with the Radio. I have 13.19.0 and about 2 weeks ago put my music collection on a USB (San Disk 16GB). Things seemed okay for a few days and then all of a sudden I got the phone needs service message twice in two days. I couldn't use Yelp or the other apps that depended upon it. I was then okay for a few days. Then I removed the USB and put in an SD Card a few days ago. Things seemed to be okay until today. When I first started the car today, it forgot the playlist I was on and just started playing the first song - which is what the radio did the first day I used either the USB or the SD Card, but it was working fine for the last few days. I didn't bother re-selecting the playlist. Then a couple of hours later - started the car and the radio didn't come on. All other things worked fine, just no radio - screen blank as if the car was off. I drove a little, nothing changed. Pulled over and shut the car for 4 minutes and pulled the SD Card. Started the car and it came up fine. Then put the SD Card back in. Finished my trip. Started the car about 2 hours later and all seems fine.

My point I guess, is that I had pretty much no issues with my radio until I started using a USB/SD Card. Anyone think there is a correlation here?

Of everyone that is experiencing the phone needs service or radio not working - do you have a USB or SD Card in the radio?

I haven't used them yet and get this error. My radio was replaced and I still get the 911 Phone Needs Service error. Firmware on the new radio is 13.19.0. Hoping the newer firmware release will fix it when available.

Make sure you have the sd card locked before you put it in its slot.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

I have been using an 32 Gig SD card since I purchased mine in May running 13.19.0 a few weeks after purchase and I haven't had any problems except lost my SM favorites one time. Also my SD card is not locked and I haven't had any problems with the music or play list on the SD card.

My educated guess would be that your Radio received an OTA update request and had some problems downloading the update. This can cause unusual restarts or incomplete restarts. It will also trigger the Service Phone message because you have had that happen before (on a load reboot it sees the same error but nothing really to be concerned about).

Until the radio finished it's load it would have done some unusual things. Often I have seen in this cycle that the Radio will loose it's presets (stored memory) so in theory loosing the last playlist prom memory could definitely be related.

As long as it has returned to normal and stays that way, I would say you likely have nothing to worry about right now.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Going back a couple/few months I was having a new issue every few days. They mostly resolved themselves with no input from me or the dealer, so I have to believe what I was told about over the air updates. The last issue was the 'turns in cluster' was unchecking itself every few days. Friday I used the nav for the first time in over a week. I naturally went to display setting to turn it back on, but I didn't have to.

That was something that a uConnect rep told me the engineers were working on an ota to resolve. If it stays checked for another week I'll have to think they fixed it.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Thanks for all the great feedback! This forum certainly helps provide more peace of mind!

Another interesting anomaly I've seen with the USB vs SD Card:

Here is the setup... SD Card connected with music collection and no USB connected.

I'm playing music from the SD Card, then switch to the radio. Then I shut the vehicle off. The next time I go to start the vehicle (after BUS sleeps sufficiently), the radio comes on as it should. If I then choose "Media", it defaults to USB and asks for the device to be connected. It doesn't remember the last time I used Media that I was playing the SD Card and it's still in there.

Is this normal functionality, a bug or possibly still related to an OTA update that isn't finished?

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Full disclosure... I'm 13.19 with no issues to date and 3000mi (knock on wood)... It would be nice if the OTA update was a notification that it was available and user selectable update (or at least notification it's happening, since giving an option will result in slow user uptake I'm sure). My life is IT and explaining why something is going on in the environment and its infinitely easier to explain it if the user knows something is changing vs random behavior. Just my .02.
