Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Reading these 100's posts and others on another post ... I'm sticking with the 13.05.3 that came with my build back in March - I don't really have any issues to speak of with the unit and don't see any reason to upgrade based on what I'm reading here.. My AC works when I remote start, NAV never locks up, Phone (Iphone5) syncs up, never had a reboot or a head unit lock up, remembers all my settings etc. I've had my share of issues with body parts on my summit and the initial registration of Uconnect but since then and 3500 miles later all is running well. Wish I could offer everyone advise as to why my head unit is running so much better than others and the only thing I can think of is firmware ?.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Picked up the unit on Wednesday with 13.15.0, and had to re-pair cell phone every restart. Installed 19.0 Thursday and while I don't have to re-pair U_connect still sends an Accept command signal to the phone before it will pair up. Is this normal; I kind of thought "once paired" it would recognize phone every time I started up....still kind of a pain...

Everything else okay, no re-boots or any of the other glitches mentioned....

Certain phone and usage combinations work fine... there is NOTHING in the new softwares that has caused a new issue. There is a loading bug in VR but this has been present in a few revisions. 13.19.0 is much faster and more stable in all apps plus NAV works better, that isn't my opnion but what everone has reported. (Jimbo excluded I will look into his problem).

Sounds like you missed the "do not ask me again" check box during the Pair... is this Android? what version and what phone? As a Premium and a "Lifetime" Member I would be happy to dig into this issue for you. It is a little different than what I have seen but I am sure we can solve this.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

My Jeep was delivered with 13.10.0. With the exception of the remote A/C issue I have had no problems with the system. I'm debating if I should risk updating to 13.19.0. What do you guys think?

13.19.0 will not fix the remote start A/C issue but it certainly has other improvements. I should let other people who had systems that work "well" prior give you their take though. If you do have it in for service there is a bulletin to do the update in service FYI.

I'm not touching my system yet. I'm on. 15 from factory.

I may not know what 'HD' radio is but I hear nothing different when toggling aside from an extra station which actually sounds worse quality. So I don't even toggle it.

My auto start air condition while turns off when door is opened it does come back to normal power within 3-4 seconds so not sure it's a big deal. At least it cools the car when I activate it so it does its purpose.

Now that I have deleted text messages my note 2 seems to work flawlessly with the messaging feature. It has however seemed to not sync up with the u connect a couple times which is new.

My annoyance is the cooling seats default to low despite turning the car off at high. Why I don't know.

With those very minor issues (knock on wood) I am going to stick to my firmware at the moment.

My Limited was delivered with 13.10 also and was pretty much problem free. I've done both updates posted on this board and I notice voice recognition has improved and Navigation has some minor changes.

I did lose easy entry/exit seating though when I updated to 13.15 and still do not have it with 13.19

If all is well you might want to just wait until the next update but I doubt you'll have issues if you chose update now.

One more question, does everything else on your S4 phone work fine via Bluetooth? I've read on here that some of these phones skip a lot or have other quirks when using with Uconnect.

The only thing my iPhone cannot do is reply to texts. everything else works beautifully, but I do find myself wishing I could reply to texts using uconnect.

My iPhone even shows the Metafile information via Bluetooth on the music that I stream via iTunes and slacker. Both the titles/artists/albums show on the screen which is wonderful. If only I could get the text reply to work with uconnect. I know siri works, but I don't want to keep taking my phone out of my pocket when I need to send a text.
Yup - Galaxy S4 on Verizon. BT works fine. Phonebook, push the button and say "Call so-and-so mobile" and it recognizes and calls.

Text input and reading is flaky. When it was new with 0 texts on it, everything worked fine for a few days. Eventually it quit working; I get a LOT of texts and assumed it had to do with the number. Once I limited it to 25/conversation, that took my total number down to 127 and everything started working. I assume that it is going to lock out that function again when I hit whatever limit the UConnect has. When it is working, I can send a text via voice fairly easily. The voice recognition there isn't the best all the time, but it works.

I haven't done anything with regards to playing music via the phone, so I can't vouch for it one way or another.

Sorry for the delayed response, I was 70 miles offshore catching the 'elusive' red snapper on the last day of the season yesterday

Jimbo,

I think I resolved your seat entry exit. I will PM you the instructions verified on a 13.19.0 UConnect.

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

My new jeep came with 13.04.2 version. Updated it to 13.12.1 as suggested, and the installation was smooth. So far, no unexpected operating hiccoughs.

Thanks!

Re: UConnect 13.19.0 - Unofficial

Just found out the "Surround Sound" function, not working in the previous version in my wife's Jeep, is now working with 13.19... good stuff.
