Due to some issues with complaints filed with Mega we have needed to move the software to our Premium Member section. I have left all of the information below for reference should you need to visit your dealer.

I have labeled this as an Unofficial release simply because I do not act as a representative of the provider of the software. I will as usual also caution you that you should *Use this at your own risk* and if you are more comfortable you may visit your Local Dealer and Reference STAR Case # S1308000211 and your dealer will load the software under warranty.

You must know the option code of your radio in order to get the correct update. The following fixes are in this update and specifically in speaking with a team of Sirius Radio engineers deals with some problems that have been reported in the Grand Cherokee. There has been site visits by Sirius XM to dealers in order to verify the Sirius Radio fixes.

Thanks to Milous for providing the fix list:

Primary Enhancements:
Corrects screen wording errors
Corrects HD default to "on" at startup
Navigation performance enhancements
Improved radio response times
Corrects battery drain due to failed radio registration
Corrects Voice recognition would not start correctly
Improved HD radio seek
Corrects Driver’s memory function causes SiriusXM failure
Improved SiriusXM Performance
Corrects radio heated seat controls
System stability improvements
Corrects for “please insert USB” at boot mode
Improved user experience at high ambient temperature
Prevents GPS module failure

Other Fixes:
Corrects loss of vehicle navigation location
Corrects incorrect compass direction
Fixes Lockup and or Shutdown of Touch Screen (RA3/RA4)
Additional behaviour updates directly from customer feedback

*** I have not verified if this has any impact on the Remote Start A/C issues and was told "not likely but not sure" ***

This will be my last post of unreleased software openly to JeepGarage, any future software releases including for other radios etc. will be available to JeepGarage supporters only. If there are Premium Members currently of JeepGarage that are also RAM owners I have posted the 2013 RAM instructions in a Premium Members thread. This is a great community and I personally know that these communities require support. This is my little way of a soft nudge to encourage that.

Unlike the prior release this is universal to either a MAC or PC as it is the RAW file. The instructions will seem very familiar to others who did 13.15.4 but you will see the file is not zipped in this case. Please read and follow the instructions I do not want to answer questions for things listed in the instructions. Please make sure to use a BLANK USB STICK. If you used this stick for the other update MAKE SURE YOU DELETE everything on the stick including the LOG file. I know this update will fit on a smaller memory stick.... DO NOT DO THIS, follow the instructions 1GB is the minimum and there is a reason as there is read/write during the update procedure.

Lastly when you read the instructions you will see that this is a customer authorized update. IF the update fails you can take it to your dealer and please know THIS WILL NOT FIX HARDWARE ISSUES. If there is a hardware issue with your radio this won't fix it and you will still need to have your radio looked at by a CDJ Dealer. I have noted that this fixes Freezing and Restarts of the Touch Screen HOWEVER I also know there were a small number of radios with hardware problems that this update will not fix but if you have these issues it is certainly what the dealer will attempt prior to any radio replacement being ordered.

*** Software Upgrades have been posted to the Premium Members section ***

POST UPGRADE NOTES:

-You may notice in the update process or after the update that "APPS" and or "SETTINGS" are interchangeable. Post update a "Registered" system will revert back to "APPS" once connected for a period of time.
-Shortly after the update is completed on an activated radio it is possible there may be a restart of your system separate from the update as APPS reconnect and or update.
-There appears to be a number of performance updates including to the FOBs detection and association. If you see unusual changes in presets on your radio, check which fob you are using.
-Not all fixes and or upgrades to the software are listed specifically. If you have a concern with a functionality of your radio it may have been addressed but not listed here.

Just did the upgrade from 13.05 to 13.19, and it seems to be working OK; will play with it later to be sure everything works as it should. The process seemed to take very little time (I was expected to be sitting there forever).

Thanks! :)

Thanks for the software share. I used this update on my 8.4AN equipped Dodge Ram 1500 and it worked perfectly. I couldnt find an instruction file specfic to the 13.19.0 update, so I just followed the 13.15.4 update instructions with the 13.19.0 .iso file.

This update went quicker than the 13.14.4 update.

I updated from 13.15 to 13.19 on my Limited JGC. Been one of the lucky ones pretty much problem free besides some Voice Recognition issues.

I did just realize that my "easy entry/exit seat" is not working. I know it was working under the original software ( 13.10 I believe? )because it worked when I first purchased the vehicle. Just realized today it hasn't worked since I upgraded to 13.15.

Tried to uncheck option on Uconnect and I noticed I can uncheck for a few seconds then it automatically checks the box again.

Also tried moving power seats all the way forward and all the way back which was apparently a fix for this on the older model JGC. Did not work on the 2014.

I did a search and could not find any info on this. Anyone have this problem or know of a fix?

I thought since I was at the dealer anyway I would have them check for the update. Good thing I copied the star case number down and gave it to the, Of course it took the 20 minutes to find the CD that was still sitting the service managers office. Then another 20 minutes to tell me that they couldn't load the software because 1. I didn't have a CD player and 2 because it wasn't for my radio. I told them that it was and they had to use a jumpdrive. They still insisted it wasn't for my radio (I have the 8.4AN). I just brought it home and loaded it myself. Apparently they cant read instructions.

The update from 13.15 to the 13.19 went smoothly and no issues. My registered radio even came back up with Yelp on boot. No issues noted.

UPDATE: I had my 14 GC overland with 8.4AN in the shop today for a replacement radio. They told me it went well and was all good to go and was working fine. Upon leaving the shop, i toggled throught the analog and digital speedo. The numbers on the analog disappeared and just the needle moved. I turned around to the dealership and they hooked up the WiTech and supposedly reset the system and put it "to sleep". When they restarted the vehicle everything was working (at that time). I drove home (1.25 hours) and at about 50 min after leaving the interface went black and I had to do a hard reset (held both mute and tune buttons for a few seconds). I placed a call to my case manager at uconnect but dont expect a call back until next week.

WHY CANT THEY JUST MAKE A PRODUCT THAT WORKS!!! I never had a problem with my Nissan or Toyota.

So, they said it was software and fixed it... not, then they said it was hardware and fixed it.. not! Also, both the service manager and sales ppl said that they havent seen this problem yet but the mechanic spilled the beans and said that he has worked on a few of these issues already!

GO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
GO QUALITY!
GO far away from this product!

the more I drive the car with this upgrade, the more I regret it. There's the ocassional phone error message, navi now does NOT recognize ANY Verbal command and the radio now defaults to a random channel on FM instead of the last input SXM. on top that and seemingly unrelated, I now have condensation in my headlights. This update didn't do anything for me except making the experience worse.

Well, installed the update a few days ago. Was working great till I got in my Jeep to drive home from work. When I started the Jeep there was no volume coming out of the speakers. Checked the volume and it was at 12, but still no volume. Any ideas on what happened? Do you think it has to do with the update? I've only had the Jeep for 3 weeks and it has less than 500 miles. I was thinking about re-installing the update. Any tips?

#228 ·
Reinstalling the update can fix problems but usually things that you noticed after the update. There have been a couple of reports of volume knob issues but not exactly what you describe. It is possible this may be a single time issue but see what you are running again tomorrow and let us know.

Willx, what do think?
My 13.19 install experience went like this-followed instructions and half way through @ about 50% complete on the install progress the screen switched to the radio screen with the last station playing the EVIC also came up. Radio touch screen controls non-operable. Waited about 5 min in that condition to see if progress screen would return. Nope. Went to settings to check version and screen shown in 4.8 of instructions came up. "The update image is valid and ready for installation. Do you want to update MASTER sw from 13.19.0 to 13.19.0?"
I selected no and completed the instructions. 13.19.0 shows as the installed version and everything seems to be working correctly so far. Had to set up the audio again and select various items in settings again but radio retained all presets and favs in Sirius. Haven't checked the nav yet.

Willix,

today is my big day.

I was able to pick up my new Summit Diesel.

On my 8.4AN is the 13.15.4 installed... are you sure, that your Update-file is not allowed for the Europe Version?

Btw. The Diesel is runnig very nice and smooth.
Congrats, a small amount of jealousy wells inside of me

All I can tell you is the updates were marked "NAFTA" and I am not in with the UConnect folks to the level that I could ask them if it would work overseas. Certainly there has been software in the past that has been shared between multiple regional areas so it is possible this update is marked NAFTA because of the included languages in the instructions etc. I have no doubts it will work, just not sure if there will be any bugs from customizations (Likely SiriusXM is one of these) but your radio likely reports to the software the module absence.

13.15.4 was actually a very stable release with good performance in most apps. People going from 13.05 to 13.19.0 would feel like they got a new radio when it came to NAV and some other features. Frankly the JGC Limited I had played with, I had no reason to update it from 13.15.4 to 13.19.0 other than to test the differences and see if known issues were addressed.

There are bigger more important updates coming so unless you are interested in experimenting, I would wait. I am a little curous as to whether we can wind these updates back but I cannot experiment with dealer inventory or demos to try this, they wouldn't be impressed if I broke a stock unit.

Reading these 100's posts and others on another post ... I'm sticking with the 13.05.3 that came with my build back in March - I don't really have any issues to speak of with the unit and don't see any reason to upgrade based on what I'm reading here.. My AC works when I remote start, NAV never locks up, Phone (Iphone5) syncs up, never had a reboot or a head unit lock up, remembers all my settings etc. I've had my share of issues with body parts on my summit and the initial registration of Uconnect but since then and 3500 miles later all is running well. Wish I could offer everyone advise as to why my head unit is running so much better than others and the only thing I can think of is firmware ?.

Picked up the unit on Wednesday with 13.15.0, and had to re-pair cell phone every restart. Installed 19.0 Thursday and while I don't have to re-pair U_connect still sends an Accept command signal to the phone before it will pair up. Is this normal; I kind of thought "once paired" it would recognize phone every time I started up....still kind of a pain...

Everything else okay, no re-boots or any of the other glitches mentioned....

My Jeep was delivered with 13.10.0. With the exception of the remote A/C issue I have had no problems with the system. I'm debating if I should risk updating to 13.19.0. What do you guys think?

#245 ·
13.19.0 will not fix the remote start A/C issue but it certainly has other improvements. I should let other people who had systems that work "well" prior give you their take though. If you do have it in for service there is a bulletin to do the update in service FYI.

After day 2 of doing the update I haven't had any problems with the system...Knock on Wood!!

#247 ·
I'm not touching my system yet. I'm on. 15 from factory.

I may not know what 'HD' radio is but I hear nothing different when toggling aside from an extra station which actually sounds worse quality. So I don't even toggle it.

My auto start air condition while turns off when door is opened it does come back to normal power within 3-4 seconds so not sure it's a big deal. At least it cools the car when I activate it so it does its purpose.

Now that I have deleted text messages my note 2 seems to work flawlessly with the messaging feature. It has however seemed to not sync up with the u connect a couple times which is new.

My annoyance is the cooling seats default to low despite turning the car off at high. Why I don't know.

With those very minor issues (knock on wood) I am going to stick to my firmware at the moment.

I upgraded yesterday and it has been working great. The system is much more responsive overall.

#262 ·
Took a video of the voice texting - I'm curious if anyone else sees this happen?
UConnect Text Issues - YouTube

Half the time I send a message now, I get random numbers spit back out. The second message appeared to work, but never left the Jeep/my phone.

I suppose I need to clear out more messages and see if I can get this functional again.

I've had multiple problems with my 8.4AN system on a 14 overland. Following multiple dealer visits, upgrade to 13.19, resets, and a new radio, I was still having problems.

I followed the above link directions and did the reset. At reboot a big SRT emblem showed up on the screen and the system rebooted. Navigation had me 100s of mile away but then i did a hard reset (held both mute and tune at same time) then it was ok again. Drove about 15 minutes total with some ignition on and off and the system hasnt shown a glitch yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep you all posted.
