Due to some issues with complaints filed with Mega we have needed to move the software to our Premium Member section. I have left all of the information below for reference should you need to visit your dealer.

I have labeled this as an Unofficial release simply because I do not act as a representative of the provider of the software. I will as usual also caution you that you should *Use this at your own risk* and if you are more comfortable you may visit your Local Dealer and Reference STAR Case # S1308000211 and your dealer will load the software under warranty.

You must know the option code of your radio in order to get the correct update. The following fixes are in this update and specifically in speaking with a team of Sirius Radio engineers deals with some problems that have been reported in the Grand Cherokee. There has been site visits by Sirius XM to dealers in order to verify the Sirius Radio fixes.

Thanks to Milous for providing the fix list:

Primary Enhancements:
Corrects screen wording errors
Corrects HD default to "on" at startup
Navigation performance enhancements
Improved radio response times
Corrects battery drain due to failed radio registration
Corrects Voice recognition would not start correctly
Improved HD radio seek
Corrects Driver’s memory function causes SiriusXM failure
Improved SiriusXM Performance
Corrects radio heated seat controls
System stability improvements
Corrects for “please insert USB” at boot mode
Improved user experience at high ambient temperature
Prevents GPS module failure

Other Fixes:
Corrects loss of vehicle navigation location
Corrects incorrect compass direction
Fixes Lockup and or Shutdown of Touch Screen (RA3/RA4)
Additional behaviour updates directly from customer feedback

*** I have not verified if this has any impact on the Remote Start A/C issues and was told "not likely but not sure" ***

This will be my last post of unreleased software openly to JeepGarage, any future software releases including for other radios etc. will be available to JeepGarage supporters only. If there are Premium Members currently of JeepGarage that are also RAM owners I have posted the 2013 RAM instructions in a Premium Members thread. This is a great community and I personally know that these communities require support. This is my little way of a soft nudge to encourage that.

Unlike the prior release this is universal to either a MAC or PC as it is the RAW file. The instructions will seem very familiar to others who did 13.15.4 but you will see the file is not zipped in this case. Please read and follow the instructions I do not want to answer questions for things listed in the instructions. Please make sure to use a BLANK USB STICK. If you used this stick for the other update MAKE SURE YOU DELETE everything on the stick including the LOG file. I know this update will fit on a smaller memory stick.... DO NOT DO THIS, follow the instructions 1GB is the minimum and there is a reason as there is read/write during the update procedure.

Lastly when you read the instructions you will see that this is a customer authorized update. IF the update fails you can take it to your dealer and please know THIS WILL NOT FIX HARDWARE ISSUES. If there is a hardware issue with your radio this won't fix it and you will still need to have your radio looked at by a CDJ Dealer. I have noted that this fixes Freezing and Restarts of the Touch Screen HOWEVER I also know there were a small number of radios with hardware problems that this update will not fix but if you have these issues it is certainly what the dealer will attempt prior to any radio replacement being ordered.

*** Software Upgrades have been posted to the Premium Members section ***

POST UPGRADE NOTES:

-You may notice in the update process or after the update that "APPS" and or "SETTINGS" are interchangeable. Post update a "Registered" system will revert back to "APPS" once connected for a period of time.
-Shortly after the update is completed on an activated radio it is possible there may be a restart of your system separate from the update as APPS reconnect and or update.
-There appears to be a number of performance updates including to the FOBs detection and association. If you see unusual changes in presets on your radio, check which fob you are using.
-Not all fixes and or upgrades to the software are listed specifically. If you have a concern with a functionality of your radio it may have been addressed but not listed here.

It would be nice if some future update it would increase the font size on the upper left and right of the EVIC. It is a bit hard to read for us older drivers.

speaking of the EVIC, I would love to see the speed limit be one of the options on there.

I find myself glancing at the NAV for the speed limit more than the road. It would be great if it was in front of me

Live that idea.

Also have noticed with the new update that I can listen to text messages but can no longer reply or just send one from the jeep. Hoping that was a random one day thing. I've unpaired and repaired the phone and uconnect but haven't tested since. Samsung Galaxy S3. I used to be able to send and receive texts.

#380 ·
Check the number of messages that the system has downloaded. I typically see problems sending texts when I get over ~120...

Many have seen the same thing and have gotten good results by clearing out the text history from your phone.

Thanks, Willx for the links! The file worked perfectly on our 2014 GC Laredo. Had it to the dealer on 6/27 for first oil change and to look at the pairing issue. The service manager said that there was no fix for ours yet because it does not have a CD player, and the only fix is on CD. I hope they really believe that and weren't just blowing me off 'cause they didn't want to fool with it. Anyway, with the links posted by Willx, I was able to get the problem fixed in just a few minutes. Thanks again!

I would like some more info on this as well... It is possible that a functionality of the radio was fixed to control the remote start properly but these may also be newer build and have updated modules. Can you guys post your build dates?

If this is true than it means the Module update is on track for later in this month if it is in production already.

A better description: The radio did receive performance upgrades in control of the HVAC however if the new modules were in the vehicle and not the latest software (UConnect) the feature may not have been completely resolved until the upgrade was run....

We have a 2014 GC Overland that we got a few months ago and it has the issue where the climate control is turned off during a remote start. We just ordered another 2014 GC Overland and it is currently in production so we'll see how it works when we get it in a few weeks. Hopefully it will have the AC module update and will work as expected. Hope that helps the dealer get our original one updated. :D

I might have figured out part of why my text messaging stopped working. As I fiddled with it yesterday something popped up saying that I'm not subscribed to uconnect access anymore. I guess that is a feature. I thought the overland was supposed to come with one year of free trial for these features?

#398 ·
Also, the assist button to connect to uconnect wasn't working.. That's how I figured out my radio didn't think I was subscribed to it.. Called uconnect from my phone and they said I should have a subscription until April 2014 and they don't know why it's not working. I can receive messages just can't create or reply.

I don't want to get off topic but since UCONNECT and remote start is being discussed there is a CBS newscast today where a 14 month child, using his parents cell phone, bought a auto :( Thankfully, the vehicle was NOT a Jeep :) I would hate for my grandkids to be able to start my ride, even though they are prevented from driving.

#401 ·
Uconnect suggests I take it to the dealer for a factory reset... Can I do that myself through the engineering menu? Any other suggestions from you guys?

I tried the update today but Mega said file not unavailable also. however i downloaded the RA3 version in hopes this would get me somewhere. While uploading the info the system stated " disk mismatch VP3 looking for VP4" is this because i need to download the RA4 or is my USB disk formatted wrong etc!! My first Post as a Jeep owner. Was a Huge Audi guy now im learning the Jeep World. 2014 GC Brilliant Black

That's the wrong software for your system. You need to download the RA4 file.

Same guys that wrote this stuff do it for 200+ models globally. Everything will be this big and complicated soon, Chrysler is simply the early adopter.

Also, sprint wasn't the first choice. Chrysler had a great idea in the beginning but through no fault of theirs that went away (would have been better coverage). Anyway it is what it is and some people have better coverage, some worse but that was what they decided.

Found the answer to another uConnect question that was asked in the past.

" Software Updates. The Uconnect Services use software that we may need or want to change. We may do this remotely without notifying you. Your vehicle systems also involve software that your car manufacturer may need or want to change. You agree that Sprint may assist your car manufacturer in doing this remotely without your prior consent to Sprint or Chrysler. "

Is your dash lighting up in the middle of the night? ;)

i hate that sprint is the provider for the WiFi system in these vehicles. Sprint has the weakest service as well as the worst customer service record. As I once worked in a call center and saw the stats personally. Sprint is truly the cheap way out of claiming to offer Hot spot technology. Even here in NYC iPad has serious load delay time with a 3G network. I guess it could be worst. Could be a T-mobile contract lol lol

Has anybody else had issues with the MEDIA section of the radio? I usually have my iPhone automatically connect for phone and Bluetooth audio. I have noticed that the phone always works, but often times the MEDIA will just display "CONNECT DEVICE" and not work. I have tried plugging in my iPod and an SD card and it seems like the entire MEDIA section becomes unresponsive. I try and wait, thinking maybe the system is still booting up, but it never works. I test my phone and that works fine. The only way for the MEDIA section to begin working again is to do a reset of the entire Nav, by pressing in both the MUTE and TUNE buttons until system reboots. After the reboot, it always works afterwards.

Any ideas? Does this sound to be hardware or software related?

New issue I am seeing with 13.19...

I had the easy access seat functionality off but turned it on for the heck of it yesterday. My seat goes haywire now. It acts different every time I turn off/start the vehicle. Sometimes when I turn it off, the seat moves all the way back, sometimes it moves back 1/2". When I start it, sometimes it doesn't move, other times it moves all the way up trying to crush me ;).

I'll be turning this back off as I don't really need it - just thought it was interesting.
