Due to some issues with complaints filed with Mega we have needed to move the software to our Premium Member section. I have left all of the information below for reference should you need to visit your dealer.

I have labeled this as an Unofficial release simply because I do not act as a representative of the provider of the software. I will as usual also caution you that you should *Use this at your own risk* and if you are more comfortable you may visit your Local Dealer and Reference STAR Case # S1308000211 and your dealer will load the software under warranty.

You must know the option code of your radio in order to get the correct update. The following fixes are in this update and specifically in speaking with a team of Sirius Radio engineers deals with some problems that have been reported in the Grand Cherokee. There has been site visits by Sirius XM to dealers in order to verify the Sirius Radio fixes.

Thanks to Milous for providing the fix list:

Primary Enhancements:
Corrects screen wording errors
Corrects HD default to "on" at startup
Navigation performance enhancements
Improved radio response times
Corrects battery drain due to failed radio registration
Corrects Voice recognition would not start correctly
Improved HD radio seek
Corrects Driver’s memory function causes SiriusXM failure
Improved SiriusXM Performance
Corrects radio heated seat controls
System stability improvements
Corrects for “please insert USB” at boot mode
Improved user experience at high ambient temperature
Prevents GPS module failure

Other Fixes:
Corrects loss of vehicle navigation location
Corrects incorrect compass direction
Fixes Lockup and or Shutdown of Touch Screen (RA3/RA4)
Additional behaviour updates directly from customer feedback

*** I have not verified if this has any impact on the Remote Start A/C issues and was told "not likely but not sure" ***

This will be my last post of unreleased software openly to JeepGarage, any future software releases including for other radios etc. will be available to JeepGarage supporters only. If there are Premium Members currently of JeepGarage that are also RAM owners I have posted the 2013 RAM instructions in a Premium Members thread. This is a great community and I personally know that these communities require support. This is my little way of a soft nudge to encourage that.

Unlike the prior release this is universal to either a MAC or PC as it is the RAW file. The instructions will seem very familiar to others who did 13.15.4 but you will see the file is not zipped in this case. Please read and follow the instructions I do not want to answer questions for things listed in the instructions. Please make sure to use a BLANK USB STICK. If you used this stick for the other update MAKE SURE YOU DELETE everything on the stick including the LOG file. I know this update will fit on a smaller memory stick.... DO NOT DO THIS, follow the instructions 1GB is the minimum and there is a reason as there is read/write during the update procedure.

Lastly when you read the instructions you will see that this is a customer authorized update. IF the update fails you can take it to your dealer and please know THIS WILL NOT FIX HARDWARE ISSUES. If there is a hardware issue with your radio this won't fix it and you will still need to have your radio looked at by a CDJ Dealer. I have noted that this fixes Freezing and Restarts of the Touch Screen HOWEVER I also know there were a small number of radios with hardware problems that this update will not fix but if you have these issues it is certainly what the dealer will attempt prior to any radio replacement being ordered.

*** Software Upgrades have been posted to the Premium Members section ***

POST UPGRADE NOTES:

-You may notice in the update process or after the update that "APPS" and or "SETTINGS" are interchangeable. Post update a "Registered" system will revert back to "APPS" once connected for a period of time.
-Shortly after the update is completed on an activated radio it is possible there may be a restart of your system separate from the update as APPS reconnect and or update.
-There appears to be a number of performance updates including to the FOBs detection and association. If you see unusual changes in presets on your radio, check which fob you are using.
-Not all fixes and or upgrades to the software are listed specifically. If you have a concern with a functionality of your radio it may have been addressed but not listed here.

OK. Update two- just got a call back from the dealer. I actualy had my sales man on the case since I got it a week ago. They used the xm id to get the info. Since I had already installed the update and still had issues, they are going to just order me a new radio! Sweet! Didn't have to waste time going twice.

Already into the beer... Off tomorrow, advice may not be as clear and concise from this point forward.

To confirm, the ChryCo STAR system uses the SXM Serial Number to identify the radio for replacements. The reason for this is that the radio serial number cannot be displayed on the radio screen itself (even in the engineering menu). Only way to access that info is the sticker on the back of radio.

actually, no. go to apps > settings > SiriusXM setup > Information

that gives the radio ID, and thats what they checked/confirmed before ordering me a new one

Thats also the ID you would give to SXM if you wanted to renew/sign up etc. No way they would put that only on a sticker. You would have to go to a dealer and have them pull the radio out just for you to sign up?

Here's something interesting.... First a little background. I purchased and activated uconnect back in march. My truck was originally on the .5 OS and has been upgraded to 15.4 and .19.0. I have had small glitches but since .19 it has been rock solid. Just today after reading a few people trying to use the "assist" button and it telling them they were not registered, I decided to try since I've never used it before. It also told me I wasn't registerd. Now to the interesting part.... I have and can still successfully send commands to my truck to lock, start, etc. So it's obviously registered. I even called uconnect and they said i was registered and to stop the truck, open and close the door to reboot the radio. I was on the highway at the time so couldn't do any troubleshooting. Of course since my truck has 6200 miles, the truck has been stopped and the door opened and closed many times to "reboot" the radio. Other than that, .19 seems very stable.

call them back. I had the same issue (although i have had other problems and a new radio is on order for me) I could use the app etc... had me try a few things as well. Then put in a ticket. 2 days later, i got a call back... they pushed something to the radio. When i tried it. it works!

now, im wondering.. when i get a new radio.... i hope that SXM and everything will be properly transfered right over. baaad feelings about that

Just fyi, I have an iPhone with IOS 7 loaded and the Uconnect app does not work. When trying to send commands, the window that pops up that asks for your 4 digit pass-code does not work properly. I thought maybe a glitch with the app, so I deleted it and re-installed, but same result.

Does anyone who has an iPhone with IOS 7 loaded able to get the Uconnect app to work?

Dan,

I had the same problem. When I called uConnect the rep said it was a known problem, easily fixed, and a tech at uConnect would take care of it. The next morning it was working.

It seems that the reps who answer the phone aren't even reading from the same script.

Years back Microsoft put their entire Knowledgebase online. When it came to computers that was the happiest day of my life. It completely alleviated te need to ever call tech support, and it is free. It would be nice if Jeep did something like that.

I just tried the Assist button and it came up with Unsubscribed. Contacted UConnect and told the lady everything, including what SW I was on. She will be calling me back in a few hours but she has an idea on what the problem is. I'm guessing a new radio is in my future.

That's the SiriusXM ID number. The radio label serial is more than likely physically on the radio itself.

An update on my experience with the lights and wipers after installing 13.19.0. It's been several days since I've driven the Jeep. Went to the garage and entered the vehicle. Pushed the garage door button and started the engine. Usually, I wait until the radio activates before pulling out, but today I didn't. Backed out about halfway down the driveway when the wipers started the three pass routine with about two seconds between each set of three. I turned the wiper control to Lo, then back to automatic and they stopped. While driving down the road, I noticed that my headlights were on. Pulled over to the side of the road and checked to see if the tail lights were also on - they were. Shut down the engine, opened and closed the door and waited for the system to power down. Started the vehicle again, waited for the radio to fully activate, then pulled out. Everything seemed to be working then.

It will be interesting to see tomorrow if the Nav and other things work on my trip to Fort Wayne.

Exactly.

I got that message, got a blacked out screen, loss of gps/clock.. etc all fine after restart. But, a new radio is on order. The new ones have updated hardware and firmware to fix all that. :)

update to 13.19.0 then call you dealer - ask if they know about it. If not, you might need to educate them :) good luck!

PS. Welcome to the VIP club!

It is a moving target though, like Milous I have said certain things which were FACT and happening to be later run over by the corporate mega bus of change order.

That's a fact I've been looking at the code/files for the uconnect system seriously they need to clean it up a bunch a lot of the changes they make are one step forward 2 back IMHO. They really need to take a look at the air card driver/file they put in there.

Glock,

I had the same thing with the registration, but ignored it. Don't do the registration cuz it will update itself. Are I re-installed the apps, Pandora and slacker came back. Sit the car off for a few minutes and restarted, the apps loaded and they were gone. The registration was gone as well.. Time will tell what happens

I have a the 730A and the only thing I noticed was the touch screen seems less responsive. I double checked to make sure it took and it did. Coming from 13.5

I only played with it for about 20 minutes but with the old software i could very lightly tap the screen and the function would execute. Now it seems like i need to fully press the it.
