Due to some issues with complaints filed with Mega we have needed to move the software to our Premium Member section. I have left all of the information below for reference should you need to visit your dealer.

I have labeled this as an Unofficial release simply because I do not act as a representative of the provider of the software. I will as usual also caution you that you should *Use this at your own risk* and if you are more comfortable you may visit your Local Dealer and Reference STAR Case # S1308000211 and your dealer will load the software under warranty.

You must know the option code of your radio in order to get the correct update. The following fixes are in this update and specifically in speaking with a team of Sirius Radio engineers deals with some problems that have been reported in the Grand Cherokee. There has been site visits by Sirius XM to dealers in order to verify the Sirius Radio fixes.

Thanks to Milous for providing the fix list:

Primary Enhancements:
Corrects screen wording errors
Corrects HD default to "on" at startup
Navigation performance enhancements
Improved radio response times
Corrects battery drain due to failed radio registration
Corrects Voice recognition would not start correctly
Improved HD radio seek
Corrects Driver’s memory function causes SiriusXM failure
Improved SiriusXM Performance
Corrects radio heated seat controls
System stability improvements
Corrects for “please insert USB” at boot mode
Improved user experience at high ambient temperature
Prevents GPS module failure

Other Fixes:
Corrects loss of vehicle navigation location
Corrects incorrect compass direction
Fixes Lockup and or Shutdown of Touch Screen (RA3/RA4)
Additional behaviour updates directly from customer feedback

*** I have not verified if this has any impact on the Remote Start A/C issues and was told "not likely but not sure" ***

This will be my last post of unreleased software openly to JeepGarage, any future software releases including for other radios etc. will be available to JeepGarage supporters only. If there are Premium Members currently of JeepGarage that are also RAM owners I have posted the 2013 RAM instructions in a Premium Members thread. This is a great community and I personally know that these communities require support. This is my little way of a soft nudge to encourage that.

Unlike the prior release this is universal to either a MAC or PC as it is the RAW file. The instructions will seem very familiar to others who did 13.15.4 but you will see the file is not zipped in this case. Please read and follow the instructions I do not want to answer questions for things listed in the instructions. Please make sure to use a BLANK USB STICK. If you used this stick for the other update MAKE SURE YOU DELETE everything on the stick including the LOG file. I know this update will fit on a smaller memory stick.... DO NOT DO THIS, follow the instructions 1GB is the minimum and there is a reason as there is read/write during the update procedure.

Lastly when you read the instructions you will see that this is a customer authorized update. IF the update fails you can take it to your dealer and please know THIS WILL NOT FIX HARDWARE ISSUES. If there is a hardware issue with your radio this won't fix it and you will still need to have your radio looked at by a CDJ Dealer. I have noted that this fixes Freezing and Restarts of the Touch Screen HOWEVER I also know there were a small number of radios with hardware problems that this update will not fix but if you have these issues it is certainly what the dealer will attempt prior to any radio replacement being ordered.

*** Software Upgrades have been posted to the Premium Members section ***

POST UPGRADE NOTES:

-You may notice in the update process or after the update that "APPS" and or "SETTINGS" are interchangeable. Post update a "Registered" system will revert back to "APPS" once connected for a period of time.
-Shortly after the update is completed on an activated radio it is possible there may be a restart of your system separate from the update as APPS reconnect and or update.
-There appears to be a number of performance updates including to the FOBs detection and association. If you see unusual changes in presets on your radio, check which fob you are using.
-Not all fixes and or upgrades to the software are listed specifically. If you have a concern with a functionality of your radio it may have been addressed but not listed here.

Here is precisely what happens. When I first start the JC and head on out, the blind spot is working properly. I will get illumination in the mirror when a car enters my blind spot. At some point early on in my drive, the truck throws the error message. At that point, I get nothing in the way of illumination in the mirror. It doesn't light when a car enters my blind spot, nor does it illuminate (perpetually) to indicate there is a malfunction. The mirror simply stops illuminating when a car enters my blind spot. I also don't get the chime that occurs when I put on my turn signal with a car in my blind spot. It is very weird. My car is spotless, there is nothing that would affect or block the sensors, in fact my JC hasn't even been in the rain yet and I got it in March (I have two vehicles).

Sounds like a faulty sensor and or it may be related to the reported issues with sensor mounting but really a dealer will need to look at it. It is not exactly what the reported problem has been but your service department has access to a Star Case that is somewhat related.

That's what I was afraid of. But I hate the thought of the dealership poking and prodding my GC. When it's an extensive problem that they are attempting to resolve, they typically mess up something else while trying to resolve the initial issue. I had a new 2006 SRT8 that early on presented with steering wheel vibration and transmission issues and the dealership absolutely demolished that car to the point where I threatened to sue them. It was just a horrible situation. At some point, they relented and took my SRT8 back and gave me a sweet deal on a Rubicon.

The internet is obviously being delivered via a spare UConnect system (hooked up outside of the car) with the WiFi Hot Spot function enabled. When I did my road trip, it worked in 3 hour increments also. Please report back any real or perceived improvements with the new radio - I will be getting a new one as well.

Ok, that was fast! im already home.. took them maybe 1/2 hour to do it.
Only thing I noticed right away was the "speed" - it seems faster to switch between each screen. Bing is listed in the apps lol.. software is 13.19.0 (thank god! lol) and the media apps are there (Pandora, iHeart, etc) they didnt dissapear on my way home either... they dont work though. I hit pandora and it tried to take me to the store to "renew my unknown subscription" lol

Re-Pairing my phone didnt go as smooth.. took like 6 tries before it worked. But seemed fine after. Assist button worked 1st try. Havent tried remote control (from phone)

I will play more as i get the chance.

Hi All,

I just want to throw this out here... I was also having quirky things happen with my NAV and 13.19 software. I re-installed it, but did it differently. First, I deleted my phone pairing and unregistered my Uconnect in the Apps section. After the radio self-reboots, I shut the vehicle off, opened door, then closed door. I then got out and waited about an hour. I started vehicle and did a factory reset (by pressing both hot/cold temperature buttons on driver side) and choosing the factory reset towards bottom of the list. Afterwards, I again left the vehicle sit for about 15mins. I then reloaded the 13.19 software. After loaded the software, I let the vehicle sit for about 30mins, then registered the Head-Unit (Uconnect in Apps section).

Finally, after registering, the radio reboots, and the 911 phone error comes up, also, I received a message that the adaptive headlights needed service, but I think this is just the system rebooting - the 911 message disappears shortly, and any other message that appears goes away after restarting the vehicle.

I have been successfully running the software 13.19 for about 2 months now with no errors and no weird quirks. The only things I notice now are related to simple programming, which I'm sure they will eventually fix. (for example, if listening to MEDIA, i.e. streaming Bluetooth, and you switch over to RADIO mode, the vehicle doesn't always remember which source you previously had on. I always listen to SAT, but the system always defaults to FM - programming related).

The system as a whole is faster and much improved since doing factory reset and re-loading the 13.19 software.

Also, my NAV and manufacture date of my 2014 GC is February 2013, so I have one of the older ones, and probably with an older build of the NAV unit.

This is excellant information!. I have certainly seen numerous times on iphones and android devices where a factory reset prior to reloading apps etc would fix some very unusual issues. This is great instructions on how to do a Lab quality load of the system.

On a further note to your comments about this install. I have been advised by one of my sources that there is the rebuilding of a component of the cell software happening after a factory reset and that during this process the "service 911 / phone ) error may appear and this may be normal (despite prior written instructions). Receiving the error at other times are likely the sign of a bigger problem.

Thank you for the write up!

I had my my radio replace 2 weeks ago on my 14 overland v6. (second time replaced). I had the vehicle phone error 1 x on day 2 after replacement but it has functioned flawlessly since. It is running 13.19. I have a droid linked to it and it works well except for sending messages... old news.

I finally feel like i have a new truck to be proud of. Its a great ride.. or course. I always have people checking it out.

I'm looking forward to updates that let the vent seats stay at the most recent setting as well as ability to change skins and of course reply to texts. Otherwise I am completely happy (now, for now)..

If you are having problems with your head unit be persistent at the dealerships until they replace it again, and maybe again. Seems like it is more than just 1 bad batch of radios or software.

I would have not been where I am now (happy with my jeep) if it wasnt for this community. Thanks! especially Willx, StaticFX and others.

I do have a quick question. If one does the factory reset, does that remove all of the nav data? I have a significant number of favorites stored there. I can always add them again, but I'd rather not take the time involved. Other settings and data are pretty much irrelevant to me as far as saving it.

#1,178 ·
At present there are some known anomalies when it relates to presets. They are not storing or recalling properly in some instances and this is supposed to be fixed in the next software update.

Factory resets will however erase all of the other information.

The Uconnect 13.19.0 software update is officially out and Uconnect encouraged me to do it myself on my RA3. It was simple enough. All went well and confirmed at the end. Just download the SWDL.ISO file to a clean thumbdrive and follow the written instruction give by WILLx above. Unfortunately, the RA3 Bluetooth issues with my iPhone 3S are still there and worse than before. My son's iPhone 5 experiences the same issues in his 2014 Limited with RA4 (a month newer than mine). It skips through songs that are playing on the iPhone and makes the telephone audio sound scratchy. The dealer told us that these issues would be fixed by this new software flash. They have not. Now the XM has begun to have .5 to 1.5 second holes in the receive audio. Only had a few of those incidents on the old version.

I have noted, however, that the screen changes and channel changes are faster and smoother, but the head just doesn't meet my expectations for that class of vehicle. Off to the dealer I suppose.

Just an FYI, I have done extensive testing with the iphone 4, 4S and 5. I have not had any issues except once with drop out. I moved the phone closer to the radio (it fell behind a seat) and never had an issue since.

I have never had call quality issues with the radio.... Feel free to ask around but I don't believe that is a common complaint at all! so not likely anything to do with software.

Has anyone noticed any changes with the HD radio performance on the 8.4AN units?

In the past 2 weeks, I lost the ability to get the HD signal from a couple of local stations. Even had one set as a preset and now I get silence. I can get the analog signal but the HD is not there anymore.

HD still comes in for some stations, but others I could get before, I cannot get now. I'm well within range so that should not be the issue.

#1,183 ·
I also have had no issue what so ever with my iPhone 5 and I have a GC Limited also with the 8.4AN head. Blue-tooth works just fine and messaging works also.

The only thing I wish that an update would change is when I plug my iPhone 5 into the USB port to record video while driving, I wish that the unit would not switch over to play music on the iPhone 5. Let me switch over if that is what I want!

After testing and verification the dealer is replacing the radio today. I will check the date code on it to see how new it is. Didn't get a chance to check the old one before I dropped it off a week ago Monday. I had been at the dealer and the salesman saw a blemish in the paint so they said we need to get that fixed for you. It was in a spot I would never have checked and even after a walk around three times I had never seen it. Get it back today with everything shipshape and radio replaced. Crossings fingers.

That's great news still waiting for my replacement radio called yesterday and I was told my service adviser is no longer with the company and he didn't make any notes that she could find supposed to be calling me back today to let me know what's up. 2 service adviser gone in less then 2 months maybe their overworked

If you have a good relationship with your salesperson ( to be politically correct ) they can be your best advocate. In my case my salesperson is the CEO's grandson and the President's son of the dealership owner so I don't have to many issues. I am one of their most valued customers so I get treated with respect. The CEO has on more than one occasion offered me a sales position.

For those who may be interested, my problem with the delay in being able to use the voice command button apparently magically disappeared today. Started the vehicle and pushed the button as I pulled out of the garage and it worked immediately. This is the first time that happened since the middle of July. It worked properly all day long.

Now, we'll see if it lasts.

Looks like I have a July 1st build if I interpret the date code correctly so I would say this is a new radio not a refurb. Either the presets are stored elsewhere or the tech actually went through and wrote them down prior to replacing the radio as they were back to what I had set them to. The only thing I had to do was pair my iPhone 5 back which took all of thirty seconds. Taking a day trip down and back to TN tomorrow so will update when I can. No wifi or signal for ATT or Sprint where I am going!

I think you got a good tech because they can save all your setting to usb before they remove old radio and then restore them.

As you can see my HD is working fine. Strange how the version did not show in the first photo. Showing now. Just went back over the paperwork. They were able to pull two codes for the radio: U0147-00 and U0110-00. On a side note they also were able to flash the TCM for the tranny as well,

I just had my radio replaced to fix "vehicle phone requires service issue".

Don't see the error anymore but I cannot do UCONNECT registration as well as cannot open UCONNECT STORE. Apps still shows BING and all the media apps (PANDORA). Usually does would disappear after sync with ucconect.

Apps show 3G connection with 4 bars but seems like I'm unable to connect. Is it possible that those guys instead of replacing radio did something to it to disable phone signal.

Frustrated by the whole experience.

Not likely... there is a whole procedure that needs to take place post replacement. I can't get it right at the moment but I can send you something later if you like.
