Due to some issues with complaints filed with Mega we have needed to move the software to our Premium Member section. I have left all of the information below for reference should you need to visit your dealer.

I have labeled this as an Unofficial release simply because I do not act as a representative of the provider of the software. I will as usual also caution you that you should *Use this at your own risk* and if you are more comfortable you may visit your Local Dealer and Reference STAR Case # S1308000211 and your dealer will load the software under warranty.

You must know the option code of your radio in order to get the correct update. The following fixes are in this update and specifically in speaking with a team of Sirius Radio engineers deals with some problems that have been reported in the Grand Cherokee. There has been site visits by Sirius XM to dealers in order to verify the Sirius Radio fixes.

Thanks to Milous for providing the fix list:

Primary Enhancements:
Corrects screen wording errors
Corrects HD default to "on" at startup
Navigation performance enhancements
Improved radio response times
Corrects battery drain due to failed radio registration
Corrects Voice recognition would not start correctly
Improved HD radio seek
Corrects Driver’s memory function causes SiriusXM failure
Improved SiriusXM Performance
Corrects radio heated seat controls
System stability improvements
Corrects for “please insert USB” at boot mode
Improved user experience at high ambient temperature
Prevents GPS module failure

Other Fixes:
Corrects loss of vehicle navigation location
Corrects incorrect compass direction
Fixes Lockup and or Shutdown of Touch Screen (RA3/RA4)
Additional behaviour updates directly from customer feedback

*** I have not verified if this has any impact on the Remote Start A/C issues and was told "not likely but not sure" ***

This will be my last post of unreleased software openly to JeepGarage, any future software releases including for other radios etc. will be available to JeepGarage supporters only. If there are Premium Members currently of JeepGarage that are also RAM owners I have posted the 2013 RAM instructions in a Premium Members thread. This is a great community and I personally know that these communities require support. This is my little way of a soft nudge to encourage that.

Unlike the prior release this is universal to either a MAC or PC as it is the RAW file. The instructions will seem very familiar to others who did 13.15.4 but you will see the file is not zipped in this case. Please read and follow the instructions I do not want to answer questions for things listed in the instructions. Please make sure to use a BLANK USB STICK. If you used this stick for the other update MAKE SURE YOU DELETE everything on the stick including the LOG file. I know this update will fit on a smaller memory stick.... DO NOT DO THIS, follow the instructions 1GB is the minimum and there is a reason as there is read/write during the update procedure.

Lastly when you read the instructions you will see that this is a customer authorized update. IF the update fails you can take it to your dealer and please know THIS WILL NOT FIX HARDWARE ISSUES. If there is a hardware issue with your radio this won't fix it and you will still need to have your radio looked at by a CDJ Dealer. I have noted that this fixes Freezing and Restarts of the Touch Screen HOWEVER I also know there were a small number of radios with hardware problems that this update will not fix but if you have these issues it is certainly what the dealer will attempt prior to any radio replacement being ordered.

*** Software Upgrades have been posted to the Premium Members section ***

POST UPGRADE NOTES:

-You may notice in the update process or after the update that "APPS" and or "SETTINGS" are interchangeable. Post update a "Registered" system will revert back to "APPS" once connected for a period of time.
-Shortly after the update is completed on an activated radio it is possible there may be a restart of your system separate from the update as APPS reconnect and or update.
-There appears to be a number of performance updates including to the FOBs detection and association. If you see unusual changes in presets on your radio, check which fob you are using.
-Not all fixes and or upgrades to the software are listed specifically. If you have a concern with a functionality of your radio it may have been addressed but not listed here.

Our new 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland was delivered yesterday with 13.28.2. It has new features like auto exit/entry (lower vehicle) and also rear view mirror dim. It also has the 3g symbol in blue. Have not found other features yet but I have not look 100%. So does anyone have access to this version for our older vehicles?

Thanks for the info...this seems to support what the dealer and my Uconnect case manager told me on Fri. I had went in to get my radio replaced b/c of the service phone error message but the dealer told me they contacted Chrysler and they said not to replace the radio b/c another update was going to be out very soon. (Even tho Uconnnect sent me to the dealer in the first place).

I hadn't seen this info anywhere yet till your post, so thanks again for keep everyone updated.

Great news studio1930 - that means we have another set of tweaks to look at!

I'd like to point out that it is pretty AWESOME how fast the updates are coming. I understand all of the trials and tribulations that come with a new software. I fully appreciate all of the issues everyone is having, but at least CJD is obviously listening to input and working on it.

Yes, I do believe they are working on a lot of the issues we talk about here. I have seen a number of test reports.... I never know what version we are going to see but as I noted in aother post, usually the software updates are in production a couple weeks before they are at the dealer level.

I will keep an eye on it! I also PMed Studio to ask him to look at at least one other change that was coming down the pipe.

Just an update, I got the latest Uconnect the other day, mine seems to be working as designed now, though it seems like it takes longer for everything to load then it did before, and when using the driver selected profiles "ie. Pro 1 Pro 2" it takes forever for the radio to change the presets but .....it does change the presets now which it was not doing before, Will keep you posted if I see any adverse issues, but so far, I still have little to none of the problems you are all having....

My radio got replaced on Saturday and still have 13.19.0.

They didn't activate my uconnect subscription and had to go back to dealership today to do that as uconnect service rep would not allow me to help myself.

They did update registration and dis factory reset and all back to normal. Now my trial subscription expires on jul 28, 2014

Hahaha..... don't tell them that, they can fix that but clearly you don't want them too!

I had my first 'car phone needs service message' after almost a month with 13.19.0. It appeared, the little red light went on and just as quickly disappeared. I called uconnect customer care using the assist button and it worked fine after the red light went out. It must have been on for about 15 seconds.. I am heading to the dealer for my first go round on the electronics for several glitches, no A/C on remote start, etc. and a free first oil change. I also hope they have the new trans update, The shifts from first to second and back, especially in stop and go traffic are very obvious. This is a new dealership for me, the one I used for 25 years went down the tubes with the Chrysler reorg. The most interesting thing is that they have 24 hour service, five days a week.

My guess is they aren't going to do a thing to your UConnect system other than make sure you have the latest software version. no A/C on remote start isn't something they can fix and I don't think that is going to get the radio replaced. Seems also they have put a hold on replacing radios for the Service Phone issue. Maybe have it documented that you are having the issues but you might be just wasting time.

I pick up mine tomorrow, build date July 26th

Bunch of geeks here, idea of a great Saturday night, downloading and installing fresh software! ;)

I got my radio replaced by the dealer on last Sat and it has 13.19. Uconnect registration expires on July 28 so I'm thinking that that is the build date.

What is the build date of your GC?

On as side note Vehicle Phone requires service message came back with the new radio. I'm sincerely hoping that that is only a glitch because otherwise I'm going to go bannanas. This nagging error message is freaking me out every time I get into my car.

I had my radio replaced last night and it was all good. That is the music played from my SD card and no more mixed units designed for the Euro boy in me living in America, with a pleasant combination of miles and meters.

But my settings would not stick. The check marks kept disappearing. I went back in there and the tech spent another hour messing with the system. He reflashed the unit with 13.19.0 and now all is good. A few observations compared to my old (original) one:

  • check marks stick for each option and no longer unclick themselves after 5 seconds (this is the part that the tech claims he had never seen - cause everyone seems to report it here)
  • the unit is much faster, all around response time is shorter
  • the data upload for movies / fuel / weather is now consistent with 3G speeds - which means nearly instantaneous
They also reflashed my transmission - with the TSB they claimed it did not exist last week. So what flash did I get last week ? So far so good.
